Primary Objective

• This position is permanently assigned to the projects with a proven track record of the initiation of meaningful project control in a multi projects environment.

The responsibilities of this position revolve around:

• Manpower planning
• Cost estimating
• Project Management Plan preparation
• Client financial approvals documentation
• Cost control engineering
• Project scheduling
• Change management
• Corporate and Client cost and schedule progress reporting.
• Managing the document control system
• Risk management reviews

Specific accountabilities

• You are expected to assure provision of full project controls such as planning/scheduling, estimation, cost control services for the assigned projects
• You will be required to prepare and issue a comprehensive Monthly Project Progress Report with requisite analysis of status.
• You will be responsible for the provision of reports required under the contract
• You are required to ensure that the assigned projects are executed per the approved PMP's with respect to man-hours, cost, and quality, scope of work and time schedule
• You will be tasked with identifying areas of concern with respect to progress of assigned projects and recommending the corrective action wherever required.
• You will be responsible for identification and recruitment of project controls personnel
• Implementation of suitable systems, processes, tools, and procedures.

Functional management

• You are responsible for sourcing, development and mentoring of project controls specialists.
• You will hold custodianship of project controls systems, processes and tools.
• You are responsible for reviewing, auditing and improving project controls activities on specific projects
• You will be required to demonstrate the project controls capability in the areas of cost control and scheduling to existing and potential clients (business development)
• You are expected to be directly involved in execution of key projects which includes Proposal preparation, Team coaching & sponsorship

Personality

• You are an individual who is self-motivated, proactive, and works well with a team.
• You will be seen as the Subject matter specialist for the resolution of issues arising across all areas of the job and be able to clearly explain complex processes that surround the role.
• We expect you to ensure the integrity of the work scope and that all work is carried-out in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• We expect you to mentor of less experienced members of staff including ‘hands on’ approach to the formulation and delivery of training programs for local Kuwaiti personnel.

Preferred Qualification(s) and/or Experience:

• You will possess either an engineering degree and/or an equivalent diploma from an accredited college or university. This is an essential contractual requirement.
• You must have work experience within PMC projects in the above-mentioned industries.
• You will have experience working with advanced engineering tools, data systems & other general office / engineering software will be given first preference.
• You will have the ability to interact effectively with people of all nationalities & cultures while using clear, fluent, and expressive verbal and written language to convey information and ideas. An individual with excellent communication and people skills, a consummate developer of relationship(s) on a sustainable and long-term basis.
• You will have broad based knowledge of the requirements for process engineering through all phases of project life cycle, from FEED through to Commissioning, within Oil & Gas or related industries.
• You will demonstrate an ability to lead/coach/mentor colleagues and/or staff.
• You will have the ability to work under tight time constraints with excellent time management and planning skills as well as manage multiple priorities.
• You will be willing to engage and manage clients as required by the needs of the business and if deemed necessary by the Worley management.

Ramada by Wyndham Manama City Centre is now seeking a Cost Controller to join our team in Bahrain.

Job Summary

The Cost Controller is responsible for implementing and maintaining control systems for sales and costs. Supervises Receiving and Storage Department accounts. Assists Food and Beverage Manager with pricing, testing and menu planning. Act as a professional activity iN all activities involved in obtaining materials at minimum costs.

Education & Experience

• At least 3 years experience in the same role with an up-scale (4/5 Star) hospitality environment.
• Experience with Accounting Systems, POS Systems, and cost and inventory systems
• Ability to multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Good interpersonal skills
• Well organized and independent
• Keen eye for detail and meticulous in performing duties
• Good Knowledge of spreadsheets and Word documents.

Fundamental Requirements

• Monitor and control all costs associated with the hotel
• To analyze the supply, demand, and prices and to assess the local events as they affect materials.
• Review and reconcile invoices and purchase orders
• Identify areas of cost savings and control
• Prepare variance analysis for food & beverage and communicate with relevant parties
• To develop the purchasing policies, procedures, and plans.
• Provides correct expense figures as requested to be given to Heads of Departments
• Check and verify all complimentary sales in POS systems.
• Check and verify all team members meals and discounts.
• Ensures the accurate recording of all sundry and consumable goods purchased.
• Provides daily cost of all sundry and consumable goods issued to various hotel departments.
• Monitors daily input of stock movement (purchasing, receiving, issuing, and transfers) into computer system on a cost basis.
• Analyzes food and beverage costs weekly.
• Prepares timetable and stock sheets for regular stock takes and coordinates timely counting and valuation
• Responsible for maintaining the Menu Pricing, Consumption, and POS systems
• Check and cross-verify if all sales have been transferred correctly to the Property Management systems (PMS).

General Requirements

• Check the menu pricing on the POS systems and ensure the correct prices are loaded
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
• Approves invoices and statements for purchase prices as detailed from purchasing.
• Ensures sufficient supply of all stationery items required for efficient operation.
• To co-operate with all organizations and persons engaged in activities designed to enhance the development and standing of purchasing.
• To consider and set-up the Economic Ordering Quantity (EOQ).
• Liaise with vendors and suppliers
• Check the daily Food and beverage revenues report submitted by the income audit for the accuracy of covers and average checks.
• Maintain accurate financial records
• Develop and maintain cost control systems
• Spot-check on the receiving department to ensure that the scales are correct and goods are checked for quality.
• Check and ensure that no material is issued out from the store without requisition or approval from the respective department head.

• Ensure that unresolved differences, shortfalls and excess balances are investigated and corrective action is taken
• Monitoring of tracker for aged transactions for all reconciliations
• Monitor settlements received from payment service providers and prepare aging analysis
• Supervision of client money accounts and fund movement
• Monitor and streamline payment settlement process for Fiat and Crypto
• Supervision of revenue earned and client funds segregations for Fiat and Crypto
• Prepare monthly client money cash flow statements to ensure smooth operational flow
• ROI's calculation for marketing initiatives
• Perform and monitor client money liquidity management on a weekly basis
• Perform liquidity analysis to support the Director of Finance and other relevant departments
• Support the Risk Management department and ensure mitigation and control of liquidity and market risk
• Provide financial and analytical support to the Director of Finance and the Finance Team
• Forecast cash flow positions of client money accounts, any related liquidity needs

Requirements

• Degree qualified in commerce, business or accounting
• Financial leadership qualities backed up by exceptional analytical and numerical skills
• 5+ years work experience in the financial sector and/or audit firm
• A thorough understanding of financial governance practices
• Experience in managing / leading work teams
• Self-motivated, energetic and flexible with a high degree of initiative
• Flexibility to adjust to changing circumstances
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Ability to work in a team and independently
