Assistant Risk Manager - Bank ABC Islamic

Bank ABC seeks to recruit an Assistant Risk Manager in Bank ABC Islamic based in our Head Office, in Bahrain.
The Assistant Risk Manager will be responsible to assist the Head of Risk & Credit Support to perform the role of the second line of defense through the governance, oversight,development and management of:

• A strong, independent but commercially aware Risk Management function covering all classes of risk affecting the bank including, credit risk, market risk, operational risk, regulatory risk, conduct risk and reputational risk.

• Preserving high standards of risk assessment and appraisal, and manage controlled development of the Subsidiary's risk portfolio in line with the Risk Appetite Statement set by the Board and ABC Group policies.
• Maintaining a proactive and professional approach to risk management and developing an enterprise-wide risk management culture across of the bank to embed risk awareness, the three lines of defense model and procedural integrity.

Responsibilities of the role:
Reporting to the Head of Risk and Credit Support, the job holder will:
Act as effective assistant to ABCIs Risk Head, with specific focus on the following:

• Coordinate the activities of Group risk disciplines, in particular:
  • Integrated Stress Testing

  • ICAAP and other regulatory aspects

  • Implementation of ORM, FRM, BCM and Data Protection frameworks

• Defining the Risk Appetite in line with the strategy for ABC Islamic and in line with GRAS

• Act as an ORM Champion and coordinate with Group Risk on the above activities

• Timely and accurate risk reporting to management, BRC and CBB,

• Act as secretary to the Risk meeting of the Bank,

• Work proactively on resolving risk related audit issues and issues raised by GAQR and be the key contact point from ABCIs Risk

Additionally, following will be expected (in varying degree) as part of the day-to-day duties:

• Ensure implementation of regular monitoring of compliance with covenants, approval conditions and credit administration matters
• Provide support to Risk Head to ensure Bank's governance, policies, procedures are aligned with Group and regulatory guidance
• Contribute to building credit awareness & three lines of defense risk culture

Areas of Knowledge, Qualification and Experience

• More than 5 years in banking, majority of which in risk areas
• A university degree in Business Administration/Finance
• A professional qualification in Risk is advantageous
• Understanding of credit and risk fundamentals
• Awareness of Corporate Governance
• Knowledge of CBB Rulebook
• Familiar with AAOIFI standards
• Knowledge of Islamic banking products

The International Tax and Transaction Services (ITTS) practice is comprised of three competencies focused on advising corporate and private equity clients on all aspects of their capital agenda – Transaction Tax Advisory, International Corporate Tax Advisory and Transfer Pricing. ITTS is unique in that it is a joint venture between the Transaction Advisory Services and Tax service lines allowing ITTS to maximize market opportunities as well as the growth and development of ITTS professionals. The Transfer Pricing (TP) competency addresses planning, documentation and controversy issues associated with all types of intercompany transactions, assisting companies with supply chain matters, with a particular focus on intangible property, and helping companies accurately reflect and monitor their transfer pricing in their financial systems. Your key responsibilities

You’ll be heavily involved at all stages of the project life cycle, making this a high-profile opportunity to take on a wide range of responsibilities and diversify your skills and experience. Skills and attributes for success

• Applying complex transfer pricing concepts and economic/financial knowledge to resolve client challenges
• Providing a fully integrated approach to transfer pricing by preparing documents and assisting in defending transfer pricing in audits supplying innovative transfer pricing and economic ideas, alongside responsive services and work products
• Modelling financial outcomes, valuing intangible assets and developing practical planning approaches
• Coordinating work with other client service colleagues globally to drive collaboration

To qualify for the role, you must have

• A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Management, Policy Analysis or another relevant discipline and a minimum of 7 years of related work experience
• A master’s, law degree, CPA, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), American Society of Appraiser's Business Valuation Certification or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to work at a fast-pace, often with shifting responsibilities

Ideally, you’ll also have

• A PhD in a relevant discipline
• A consistent record of excellence in a professional services environment
• Existing transfer pricing experience

As Licensed Aircraft Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring the full serviceability and airworthiness of the assigned Qatar Executive aircraft at any time. Working within Qatar Executive Doha facilities, on one of the most modern fleets, you will be integral and valued team member of the growing Technical facility.

You will provide full support to the Lead Engineers/ Management to perform any scheduled or unscheduled tasks, which is required as per the approved maintenance documentation to ensure fulltime aircraft availability and highest standards possible. Working to the highest standards in accordance with Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) regulations and Company procedures to ensure the continued safety of flight for these aircraft. Your core responsibility is to ensure timely and quality performance of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on the aircraft assigned to you.

Other key responsibilities are:

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities as required to support the successful operation of Qatar Executive private fleet
• Manage inspections and define priorities of defects to be rectified. Identify skill sets required and coordinate effective use of pool personnel available to you.
• Proactively find solutions to the defects to ensure efficient resolution while adhering to Safety, regulatory and company policies and standards
• Responsible for the final release of work while ensuring tasks are performed to meet QE standards and targets such as aircraft availability, system reliability and level of acceptable deferred defects.
• Review work procedures, equipment and standards to propose improvements to ensure work processes are effective. Implement solutions to technical problems within his range of operations.
• Perform riding engineer duty when aircraft is leaving home base
• Assists QE management in the definition of new aircraft, GSE and support requirements.
• Travel to the location of an aircraft at short notice, to perform troubleshooting and defect rectification professionally and with maximum efficiency.
• Works together with OEM’s, vendors and supplier to find solutions to defects and/or problems affecting the operation of the aircraft
• Perform additional tasks as required and instructed by Maintenance Manager as required by the company

Qualifications

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional with:

• Degree or Equivalent / Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance

• B2 or B1/B2 Airbus A320 fam CEO (preferable with V2500 engine)

• Minimum of 5 years of job-related aircraft certifying experience.

• In depth knowledge of aircraft maintenance fundamentals appropriate to the area of employment
