Context:

The United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) operates world-wide with a target of
providing resettlement opportunities to thousands of refugees each year. IOM provides a range
of assistance and support to the USRAP including, but not limited to, case processing, migration
health assessments, cultural orientation training, organized transportation and administration of
a travel loan and collections program. The Department of Operations and Emergencies (DOE),
specifically the Resettlement and Movement Division (RMM), has the organizational
responsibility to provide direction, oversight, and guidance to IOM’s global support to all
resettlement programs.

Under the United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP), Resettlement Support
Centers (RSCs) provide critical support and processing assistance for resettlement to the US.
As part of an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between IOM and the US State


Department Bureau for Population Refugees and Migration (PRM), IOM manages several RSCs
which prepare applications for adjudication by and provide support to visiting US Citizenship and
Immigration Services (USCIS) officers, facilitate security and medical screenings, provide
information about arriving individuals to resettlement agencies in the US and offer Cultural
Orientation (CO) training to individuals departing for the US.

Under the overall supervision of the Senior Project Coordinator RSC and direct supervision of
the Project Officer - Interpretation and Translation, the Associate Project Officer (Interpretation
and Translation) will be based in Doha, Qatar and will have the following duties and
responsibilities:

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

1. Support accurate communication in a common language during interviews and other
meetings conducted in-person, by telephone, and/or by video conference by providing verbatim
(word for word) interpretation services. As needed, oversee team members providing
interpretation services to US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) officers on circuit
rides and beneficiaries.

2. Provide interpretation services in the preferred language of the beneficiaries without
paraphrasing, summarizing, omitting, or adding information; always use the first person (I, me
and my) and remain engaged during the interpretation session.

3. Maintain strict confidentiality during interpretation sessions and follow designated program
procedures regarding the destruction or maintenance of written notes within the required
timeframe (e.g., immediately after each interpretation session).

4. Remain objective, unbiased, impartial, and neutral when providing interpretation services.
Treat all parties to the conversation with courtesy, dignity, and respect, regardless of their age,
ethnicity, religion, political opinion, sex characteristics, gender, gender identity, gender
expression, sexual orientation, disability, or any other factors.

5. Understand and show sensitivity towards cultural practices and language differences that
may exist between the parties to the conversation. Respect the use of proper pronouns that are
preferred by the beneficiaries, when applicable.

6. Inform the Project Officer if you are having difficulty understanding a party to the conversation
or if a beneficiary or any other individual offers a bribe, threatens you or tries to influence your
interpretation. Immediately inform the Project Officer, Interpretation and Translation if you know
the beneficiary personally or if you have ever met the individual at any point in the past.

7. Abide by IOM Standards of Conduct (IN/15), Policy and Procedures for Preventing and
Responding to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (IN/234), IOM Data Protection Principles (IN/138),
Policy for a Respectful Working Environment (IN/90), and Fraud Awareness and Prevention
Guidelines (IN/70).

8. Participate in relevant training sessions on such topics as interpreting for international
organizations, respectful terminology, and the protection of program beneficiaries, and
contribute to terminology lists as requested.

9. Remain available to be evaluated on the quality of your interpretation by a third party.

10. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:


Education

  • Master’s degree in Social Science, International Relations, Regional Studies, or a related field
from an accredited academic institution; or,
  • University degree in the above fields with two years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Experience in interpretation and/or translation activities is preferred.
  • Experience serving in hardship locations, particularly in the region, is an advantage.

Skills

  • Proven written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with a
team.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Knowledge of USRAP program implementation and familiarity with IOM’s administrative,
financial, and business rules and practices is desirable.
  • Takes responsibility and manages constructive criticism.
  • Works effectively with all clients and stakeholders.
  • Promotes continuous learning; communicates clearly.
  • Takes initiative and drives high levels of performance management.
  • Plans work, anticipates risks, and sets goals within area of responsibility.

  • Works effectively with local authorities, stakeholders, beneficiaries; and the broader community
to advance country office or regional objectives.

Languages

IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish. All staff members are required to be
fluent in one of the three languages.

For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of Dari
and/or Pashto is highly desirable (oral and written); or another official UN language (Chinese,
French, Russian and Spanish) is an advantage.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process,
which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Role Purpose

The Key Account Manager is responsible for driving sales and revenue growth within the organization’s fleet customer segment. The role will leverage their expertise in both fleet management and GPS technology to identify and develop new business opportunities, build strong relationships with fleet customers, and achieve sales targets.

Involves working in the fleet management industry, specifically focusing on sales. Role will be responsible for selling fleet management solutions and services to potential clients, including transportation companies, car rentals, logistics providers, and other businesses with fleet operations. Role will operate in a competitive market, where building and maintaining strong relationships with clients is crucial. The role requires in-depth knowledge of fleet management practices, industry trends, and competitor activities. Success in this position will be measured by your ability to meet or exceed sales targets, contribute to business growth, and establish the company as a trusted provider of fleet management solutions



Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Deliver against all business sales revenue and profit targets for telematics products

  • Assist in developing and executing a sales plan to expand the organization’s customer base within the fleet industry, specifically targeting fleet management companies, transportation companies, logistics providers, and other businesses with fleet operations.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of fleet management practices and GPS technology to effectively position the organization’s telematics solutions, showcasing how they can enhance fleet operations, improve efficiency, and increase profitability.
  • Identify and prospect potential fleet customers, conducting thorough needs analysis, understanding their pain points, and presenting tailored solutions that address their specific requirements.
  • Support in implementing the sales strategies to target tracking and telematics opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in fleet organizations, providing ongoing support, demonstrating value, and acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Lead contract negotiations and close sales deals, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for both the organization and the fleet customers.
  • Establishes new accounts and services accounts by identifying potential customers and planning and organizing sales call schedules.
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services
  • Provide post-sales support, ensuring customer satisfaction, addressing any concerns, and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products or services to the fleet customers.

Build awareness of Locations Solutions within Regional Market

  • Leverage fleet industry knowledge and experience to effectively communicate the company’s value proposition, highlighting how its products or services can address the unique needs and challenges of fleet operations.
  • Act as a brand ambassador by consistently representing the company in a professional manner, maintaining a strong industry network, and proactively engaging with potential customers and industry influencers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in fleet organizations, positioning the company as a trusted advisor and industry expert.

Build high levels of customer satisfaction

  • Build strong and effective account management relationships with clients by implementing best account management practices.
  • Support in developing and implementing customer retention plans
  • Maintain a retention rate of a minimum of 75% on all existing accounts
  • To work closely with all internal departments to deliver the goal of total customer satisfaction.
  • Client account management by providing technical information and training.

Desired Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Regional market and regulations.
  • Valid Qatar Driving license
  • Fluent in Arabic and English.
  • Proven track record of success in sales, specifically within the telematics industry with a focus on GPS technology and fleet sales.
  • In-depth knowledge of fleet management practices, including fleet operations, vehicle tracking, fuel management, driver safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with senior-level executives and decision-makers within fleet organizations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to effectively convey the value proposition of the organization’s telematics solutions and close sales deals.
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on meeting and exceeding sales targets and objectives within the fleet segment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales tools for tracking sales activities, managing leads, and analyzing sales performance.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with fleet customers, attend industry events, or conduct on-site visits.
