What You'll Be Doing

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Logistics & Fulfilment technologist to join a renowned retail group in the Middle East, working as part of the Group Technology function. The successful candidate will work with the Retail and Supply chain leadership teams to drive digital transformation across our Fulfilment capabilities.

This Business Analyst reports to our Logistics & Fulfilment Technology Leader and is expected to:

    Fully understand Logistics & Fulfilment strategies, expected outcome, deliverables and value that needs to be generated from technology
    Work with the Logistics & Fulfilment Technology Lead (line manager) to shape the future technology and solution roadmap for Logistics & Fulfilment, identifying future potential enhancements to products/platforms that will drive business value
    Support the business to translate business requirements into technology requirements and recommended new capabilities/enhancements to be added to the backlog
    Ensures that Logistics solution requirements are defined, groomed and planned effectively for DevSecOps delivery management
    Actively manages the operational activity of external vendors and delivery partners supporting solution design/build activity
    Manages the on-budget delivery of solution delivery efforts through close tracking of budget and forecast spend, pro-actively recommending opportunities to maximise the ROI of project budgets
    Pro-actively manages and mitigates delivery risks, ensuring prompt escalation and resolution
    Ensures the successful management of the service transition process from project to business-as-usual
    Work in close partnership with services colleagues to ensure that product issues are within the agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), running costs are within plan, and work collaboratively to continually enhance the product quality and avoid 'technical debt' (outdated technical components)

What You’ll Need To Succeed  

    Degree Educated, with 8-10 years post graduate work experience working with Supply Chain and Logistics related solutions, preferably in a business facing IT/Digital role
    Deep understanding of how Regional and Global Logistics networks operate both for B2B and D2C eCommerce and how technology can support optimization and improvement
    Demonstrated experience in implementing systems such as Transport Visibility, Carrier Management, Transport Management, eCommerce fulfilment solutions
    Experience and appreciation for the Middle East would be preferable but not essential
    Experience delivering and managing complex solutions (multi-platform, multi-technology, 3rd parties) end-to-end (e.g., solution integration, data management and effective cutover and release strategies)
    Experience working with modern integration technologies is preferable (e.g., a good understanding of API design patterns and frameworks, micro services, API gateways, API security etc.)
    Awareness and understanding of Lean-Agile project management and solution development methodologies and frameworks e.g., Dev Ops and SAFe.
    Experience in large regional/global organisations using in-sourced and out-sourced IT service providers

The InterContinental Hotels Group® properties in Dubai Festival City consist of four hotels. These include the luxury brand InterContinental, the lavish long-stay InterContinental Residence Suites, the superior upscale Crowne Plaza, and the vibrant mid-scale Holiday Inn & Suites. In addition to over 1600 rooms, the four properties boast a selection of 16 restaurants and bars, an impressive 3,800-square-metre Event Centre across two levels, the 5,000-square-metre Festival Arena by InterContinental, the luxurious Spa InterContinental, and state-of-the-art gymnasium and swimming pool facilities. We are looking for people who are friendly, welcoming, and full of life to join over 1200 colleagues who are always finding ways to make every guest's experience an enjoyable one. We value the passion and enthusiasm of our colleagues and encourage you to share your passion when you work with us.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

    To ensure room and banquet bills are supported by proper LPO/ TA Voucher/ Authorization letter, and it must be done on daily basis.
    To send all the Invoices/ Billing on daily basis.
    To check AR Transfer against system city ledger transfer report and to make sure that all restaurant checks/ guest folios and all charges relating to AR are received daily.
    Responsible for reconciliation of Credit Card on daily basis.
    To reconcile all over 30 days accounts monthly and to take out all the paid invoices.
    To maintain an up-to-date AR Filing system.
    Applying Payments in Accounts Receivables in the respective accounts received through bank transfer, Cheque, and credit card/cash.
    Coordinate with Front Office Staff, Sales, Food & Beverage and Banqueting to ensure smooth operation.
    To Assist Credit Manager in routine operation, maintain up to date records of all Accounts Receivable accounts and assist Credit Manager in conducting monthly credit meetings with Hotel’s Management.
    Preparation of No of Days revenue in City Ledger and to ensure that the hotel standard credit policy is followed by concerned departments.
    To do the month end invoicing of Long Staying Guest, Govt, Travel Agent and Corporate accounts.
    Review and follow up paymaster account daily.
    Investigate and review late charges daily & results of such investigations to be kept in file for Credit Manager’s review.
    To follow up on the PM account with F/O and Sales in the absence of Credit Manager by personal visit and sending emails.
    To be involved in the month end closing with Credit Manager.
    Review banquet function sheets to ensure adherence to Credit Policy and all irregularities to be reported to Credit Manager.
    To print AR Aging report on every 1st for last month and to send monthly statement of account by the 1st week of every month.
    Discrepancies/Variances to be investigated and to be reported to Credit Manager.
    Follow up on credit limit report in the absence of Credit Manager.
    To ensure that all the credit card terminals are fine, credit card rolls, and stationary arranged from bank and to ensure that card receivables are paid.
    To raise all required rebates, Misc. Credit and Misc. Charge.
    To make payments and prepare for the TA Commission in the absence of superiors.
    To assist Credit Manager in routine operations, maintain up to date records of all AR Accounts.

What we need from you:

    Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
    Several years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar financial role.
    Strong leadership and team management skills.
    Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail.
    Knowledge of relevant accounting principles and regulations.

DESCRIPTION

We’re expanding our team within Amazon Logistics! If you’re interested in joining a business where you can have fun, achieve amazing results and put smiles on people’s faces, this could be the role for you. You will oversee the shift management in one of our first mile fulfillment centers, middle mile sortation centers or final mile delivery stations. Our Operations Supervisors drive the pulse of our operations on the ground and play a key role in getting our customers’ orders out to them in every step of the chain.
This is a varied, challenging role and every day is different!


Key job responsibilities
You will…
• Create and cultivate a safe working environment by identifying safety opportunities across your work area
• Manage and train our Associates to help deliver the best service for our customers
• Ensure that customer orders are fulfilled in line with quality and safety guidelines
• Continuously provide critical shift related information to frontline management and operators
• Adjust labor allocation throughout your shifts to meet and exceed plans and forecasts
• Engage with support functions and/or other departments to address common issues or needs in key areas of performance e.g. process area readiness, 5S, safety, training
• Help to solve logistics and supply chain challenges through data analysis, innovation and process optimization

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience managing medium to large teams.
- Experience working with data analysis and/or making decisions based on analysis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- The Right Candidate…
- Has strong communication skills, demonstrates a great sense of ownership, leads by example in all areas of performance and has the ability to develop subject matter expertise in all operations processes. You will need to be able to work with data, motivate employees to achieve the best, but most importantly have the ability to keep the customer at the heart of every decision you make.
