Primary objective

To undertake/manage Loss Prevention Engineering and Safety & Risk and related works on major projects as required by the company workload.

Specific Accountabilities

Manage Safety & Risk Engineers to develop Loss Prevention Engineering deliverables on major Oil & Gas projects

Overview and manage 3rd party HSE Consultants for Safety & Risk studies for the projects

Coordinate with relevant engineering disciplines and 3rd party HSE Consultants for conducting various Safety & Risk workshops such as PHA, HAZOP, SIL and SIMOPS, etc.,

Project management, production of project deliverables on time and to budget.

Preparation of proposals and man hour estimates for major tenders

Preparation of, and management of, both Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Assessments, including fault tree and event tree analyses, hazard identification, FMECA techniques, risk ranking.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of methods, access to databases and access to appropriate software.

Ability to lead a project team of Risk & Safety Engineers.

Provide guidance to, and training of junior engineers in the preparation of their work.

Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Business Unit

Safety – Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the Business Unit. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

Essential Skills/Experience

Degree in Chemical Engineering, membership of a relevant Engineering Institution or similar, Ability to manage projects.

Hand-on experience in Offshore Oil & Gas projects, especially Concept studies and FEED.

Working experience in middle-east, especially on ADNOC project is an added advantage

 Direct risk & safety experience in the oil and gas industry.

Job Description:

Resident Engineer - Landscape 

Dubai, UAE 

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Resident Engineer - Landscape to join our team! In this role you will get to manage all on-site field construction activities of major projects, often involving multiple units. 

What You'll be Doing:

Develops the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for the assigned project elements, and monitors progress to meet schedule and budget requirements. 

Identifies and documents changes in project scope.  

Determines the scope of procurement work, schedules, and budgets for technical aspects of the contract and monitors progress. 

Interfaces with Procurement and Subcontracts to facilitate procurement coordination with vendors/subcontractors. 

Participates in bid analysis to help determine supplier availability and capability.  

Reviews work produced to ensure that applicable codes, standards, and procedures are followed and that quality is acceptable. 

Monitors productivity and technical proficiency of assigned technical personnel, and makes reassignments as project needs arise. 

Conducts performance evaluations, takes corrective action as necessary, and recommends salary actions

Provides training and development opportunities for assigned personnel.  

Coordinates the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the project, as well as the assignment of personnel from other technical support groups within the company.

Assists the Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project or study. 

Participates in determining the technical skills and staff hours required for successful completion of the project.  

Ensures client criteria and scope are met by all engineering disciplines. 

Expedites distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the client and Project Manager.  

Prepares technical reports, project manuals, and documentation of activity for the client and project management.  

Acts as Project Manager's deputy for certain activities, such as attending meetings in his/her absence, etc.  

Obtains, analyzes, and circulates technical and contractual information to project disciplines.  

Reviews and approves change orders. 

Notifies project management and other affected personnel of all changes.  

Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.    

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Bachelor's degree in civil/agricultural or architectural Engineering

Minimum 10 years experience in construction of landscape, irrigation, softscape and streetscape, parks etc.

Knowledge of Dubai authorities requirements.

Broad general engineering background, and landscape project engineering experience is required.

Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction related processes, as well as industry practices. 

Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction, and the proven ability for performing in a supervisory capacity on a project.

Job description

​Charterhouse is undertaking a search for an international operator, within the logistics sector, whom are in the process of looking to identify a Senior Tax Specialist. From their Dubai hub, this role shall oversee tax matters across the regional jurisdictions and entities spanning the MEA region with also an insight to US based entities and partnerships.

About the role

From a technical angle, this role shall be heavily geared towards all areas of corporate tax, indirect taxation spanning also transfer pricing and any policy implementation and guideline.

In conjunction, the client will look for an individual with a regulatory background; whereby exposure to international tax standards, applied IFRS principles and effective mitigation are a critical knowledge base.

This Tax Specialist shall also have ownership of all tax preparations and filings, within the regional coverage, whilst also having responsibility for the management and coordination of all tax audit, transfer pricing strategy and any regulatory frameworks to manage areas of payment efficiencies and/or exposure of risk.

About you

The client will look to recruit a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CPA) whom is able to demonstrate a background from within a public accounting firm, with a tax specialisation, combined with an exposure to audit and/or technical accounting standards.

In conjunction, this manager role shall require a background from within a cooperate operation, with exposure to a range of regional jurisdictions, standards and regulatory compliance within the tax discipline.

From a management point of view, this position shall require someone whom is able to oversee and supervise a team of Accountants whilst also developing internal planning, resource allocation and stakeholder management.
