Assistant Manager, Software Verification, Samsung, Dubai, UAE

Position Summary

The successful applicant is responsible for quality assurance testing of Samsung mobile phones in real network for end users.

Role and Responsibilities

[Building testing infrastructure] Participate in setting up an evaluation environment for software testing and suggesting an automation tool, etc.

[Testing development management] Develop test cases based on requirements and specifications, make a test process, and define function evaluation standards.

[Testing software] Test software functions, non-functions, codes, and usability based on a development process within a certain period of time.

[Software defect management] Identify software defects and Confirm improvement and acquisition of functions during development and mass production stages.

[Project management] Develop a plan according to a testing process by development stage and follow the processes.

Conducting full field tests for Samsung mobile products:

Performing software testing including inter-operability and compatibility with live network

Performing performance testing and verification including driving tests, voice quality, data throughput, current consumption, RF performance and protocol configuration

Verifying local market requirements including language integrity, local operators prerequisites and local government regulations

Reporting detected field issues along with detailed description for test environment/scenario and required logs to be analysed by R&D

Testing new emerging telecommunications network technologies (such VoLTE, VoWiFi and 5G) and verifying compatibility and inter-operability of Samsung products with UAE mobile network operators mainly and other MEA countries occasionally based on request

Optimizing and updating the field test process and test cases to enhance work efficiency

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

Native Arabic speaker

Experience with S/W testing, preferably Android operating system. Automation experience is a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably majored in electronics and communications engineering)

Technology skills around mobile handsets and deep knowledge about mobile communication

Experience in SW testing/quality assurance

Possess a basic understanding of Android OS and other mobile platforms

Good PC skills and the confident use of applications such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

High self-motivation and ability to work alone, managing own work and setting sensible priorities according to perceived requirements

Good at planning and able to meet the testing schedules

Approachable, flexible, team orientated and self-assertive where required

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management

Must be a team player and willing to adapt to change

Duties & Responsibilities

** Please note this position will be based in country in Luanda Angola**

Purpose

Business Line Leadership, Execution and P&L Accountability.

Functions

Execute area objectives in support of Business Group and Regional strategy inclusive of “Brand Strategy”, integration strategies, revenue / profit objectives and higher level HSE culture and performance.

Manage area business to achieve short and long term operations plan.

Align area business with Business Line, Group and Regional goals for Operational Excellence.

Control CAPEX spend in alignment with approved capital allocation.

Execute Business Line and Regional objectives for market share growth and increase in integrated services within Customer accounts.

Assist in developing direction and objectives for cross-BG area commercial activities as aligned to long term growth strategy.

Operations level interaction and goal/strategy commitment for and with industry partners and Customer leadership.

Assist in developing strategy and objectives for short and long term financial and planning activities as intertwined with market share targets and new market penetration.

Guide leaders in implementing key strategies.

Monitor performance and mentor leaders.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

At least 5 years’ experience in leadership role within IMR/Installation/Diving

Proven and demonstrated commercial competency with specific emphasis on sales and project management.

Business development skills;

- On the ground experience within a Portuguese African country would be highly beneficial;

- Collaborative, outgoing and convincing personality;

- Result oriented and excellent communication and decision-making skills with sense of urgency;

- Able to align objectives with business strategy in order to ensure all agreed targets are met;

- Proven ability to interact with senior management of various stakeholders Business Unit

Responsible for the performance of the supply chain as defined with the business (in the service level agreement, for all the commercial entities of the geography) and as defined with EMEA Operations and Supply chain

Animating the supply chain teams across the geography.

Driving the progressive integration of META SC in the global EMEA Rx SC and its transformation according to group SC guidelines

TASKS & OBJECTIVES :

You are responsible for the performance of the supply chain to the customers in reliability (service), responsiveness (lead time) and efficiency (costs). You define with the local business team the Service Level Agreement applicable to the supply chain end to end in coordination with EMEA Supply Chain Management Team for all products and offers, and you make sure that supply chain processes are set up accordingly.

You are responsible to build and drive action plans to reach objectives for the region, and to track and report the performance through BSC and standard SC reporting

In coordination with the steering EMEA Rx SC functions, you are responsible for the region of the Demand and Supply planning process, the inventory management, the Order Planning and Fulfillment process and the New Product introduction roadmap as well as product offer rationalization.

You are responsible for distribution performance and logistic cost optimization, lead time improvement of logistic operations and optimization of the working capital.

You manage the capacity of our assets to guaranty the continuity of the service on the long term.

You coordinate transformation projects, establish functional requirements, manage implementation of delivered solutions

You provide necessary information and reporting to EMEA Rx Operations & Technology steering functions

You manage the different persons reporting to you.

You contribute to the continental supply chain community by sharing best practices and building a skills development plan for the geography supply chain teams
