Engineering Performance Manager - MEA Region, Penspen, Abu Dhabi, UAE

We are currently looking for Engineering Performance Manager - MEA Region based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Main Purpose of Role:

To act as the owner, champion and focal point for Engineering Performance in the MEA & Europe Regions, constantly working to assure and improve the quality and efficiency of engineering delivery

Responsibilities:

Maintain, improve and update Penspen’s “Engineering Book of Knowledge” (EBOK)* as required

Ensure that EBOK content is used to its full extent in the development of project deliverables

Ensure that the Technical Discipline Authorities deliver their roles in Engineering Performance, focusing on utilization and continuous improvement of EBOK content

Redefine Engineering execution models and implement innovative methods to improve efficiency.

Ensure that Engineering Quality Audits are undertaken in accordance with the Engineering Quality procedures, Audit Reports issued, actions are added to Penspens Performance Improvement Reporting System and closed out and that the Engineering Performance Master Tracker is kept updated.

Ensure that Engineering Quality procedures are kept updated and revised where necessary to reflect the development of working practices. This includes procedures, standard specifications, working methods, calculation methods, etc.

Issue quarterly EBOK reports to the Project Sponsor, stating utilization, benefits, and ongoing developments.

Ensure that a norms database is developed and regularly reviewed, including quantification of the benefits of EBOK content

Hold regular meetings with the TDAs and engineering community to inform on EBOK updates, provide training where required, and discuss improvement needs.

Lead by example in applying QHSE and ethical policies and procedures.

*EBOK is Penspen’s suite of Engineering Procedures, Standards, Specifications, Calculation Sheets to support efficient, consistent and reliable project delivery.

Qualifications/Knowledge / Experience (Skills):

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (minimum)

Chartered Engineer (preferred)

15 years+ multi-disciplinary engineering experience in the energy sector, with practical exposure to the EPC sector.

Excellent technical background in the FEED and detailed design.

Experience in design that minimizes environmental impact.

Ability to effectively manage and direct lead multi-disciplinary professionals working under pressure to deadlines and be able to prioritize own and others workload, interfacing with other discipline staff as required to accomplish the task / project.

High level leadership skills with the ability to lead effectively, and to motivate and influence others to adopt company and department objectives.

Strong analytical ability to focus on schedule and commercial goals relating to progress, revenue, cost and profit.

Driven, committed, self-motivated, results oriented and dedicated to achieving high standards.

Must possess strong interpersonal skills to be able to work and coordinate effectively with Clients, Contractors and internal staff in a multi-cultural environment.

Sound knowledge of cost analysis and other financial aspects of contract management.

Overview of the role
As the Technical Advisor in Abu Dhabi, you will assist the Service Advisors while receiving Advanced General Repair (AGR) vehicles by interacting with customers, confirming the symptoms by interviewing, observing and road testing along with the customers. You will guide the Technicians in repair works to resolve the AGR concerns to fix the concerns at the first time itself to meet the customer expectation for providing the Best in Town Experience and sustain the brand name in market.

What you will do

Maximize individual sold hours to meet the revenue performance objectives through target setting
Achieve individual utilization, efficiency and overall productivity set on monthly basis.
Ensure adherence to warranty process, rules and regulations as stipulated by the Principal to qualify vehicles under Branch Self Approval (BSA) as per the criteria.
Submit Electronic Warranty Approval Request Form (EWARF) submission on timely basis
Analyse and communicate technical report result and support Technical Leader with coaching based on outcome of technical information
Ensure that all the diagnostic tools and equipment are available, updated and maintained as per distributor tool list and guidelines.
Ensure ongoing audit of tools and equipment to ensure optimal efficiency in the workplace

Required skills to be successful

Experienced and certified Diagnostics Master Technician (DMT)
At least 5 years’ recent experience in the automotive dealership as a Workshop Supervisor, Controller or Foreman
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Diploma
Ability to write technical reports

About the team
The Technical Advisor role will report to the Workshop Manager. This role is specifically designed to interact with customer that experience technical issues. You will collaborate with other Divisions and other branches to maximize overall business benefits. You will also have daily interaction with internal stakeholders such as Aftersales Manager, Retail Service Manager, Workshop Manager & Service Advisors to monitor & evaluate quality performance against set standards.

Valid UAE Driving license
5 years of overall experience with automobile dealerships, of which minimum 2 years in similar role or Diagnostic Master Technician.

Initiate, update and maintain employees’ personal data on the HRMS

Keep updated records on all new immigration and labour legislations as communicated by the PRO and the HR Manager

Prepare staff turnover reports (new comers, leavers, total headcount), KPI report for absenteeism.

We are currently looking for an energetic, detail-oriented individual to join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team. This committed group works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure that supports our Data Center Organization within Amazon. Specifically, this team works to ensure that the data center operate at 100% availability while maintaining first-class customer service to the teams and groups within the data centers.

This position will report to the Data Center Engineering Operations Facilities Manager and provide a central point of ownership and accountability for the overall ‘hands-on’ management of the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) infrastructure. It will also include event management, incident management, problem management and change management. In addition, this will include the relationship management with critical facility vendors, Data Center Construction team, Data Center Operations team, Security team, and Logistics team.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Operations and Maintenance:

· Ownership of all Data Center changes/events/incidents/problems from beginning to end as well as overseeing the completion of post-mortems, root cause analysis and follow-up resolution actions.
· Responsible for ensuring maintenance/ repairs of site-critical facility infrastructure or a Data Center are planned and executed to the best interest of the business.
· Responsible for Asset and Inventory management.
· Develop and maintain method statements, standard operating procedures, emergency response procedures, and preventive maintenance programs. Ensure standardization and consistency with best-in-class operating practices.
· Develop a complete, deep knowledge of the design intent, operational alternatives and contingency plans related to all Data Center systems.
· Understand the engineering aspects of the Data Centers related to Health & Safety, local statutory requirements, environmental and energy management.
· Deliver the regular engineering reports and ensure adherence to contracted deliverables including SLA’s and KPI’s.
· Providing hands on facility support where required (e.g. installation of new equipment, decommissioning of equipment, replacement of faulty equipment, internal audits…etc.)
· Take part technical compliance auditing and the effective and timely close out of corrective action plans. Take part in annual operational reviews with a focus on compliance with the Amazon standards and all applicable regulatory requirements. (Audits)
· Manage the delivery of the portfolio of Energy/Environmental Management Programs
· Keep abreast of Data Center industry innovation
· Incident and Emergency Response:
· Reviewing incident reports, documenting periodic trend summaries, and providing updates and recommended actions to management
· Managing information flow during incidents while providing regular updates to management
· Manage and coordinate with vendors to resolve any incidents during emergency situations. This may require to physically be dispatched on to site to investigate and resolve the issue

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience of Data Center operations and on-call support for Data Center facilities.
· An undergraduate degree in a technical field (EE, MechE, IndustrialE).
· A good understanding on the nature of mission critical systems (Data Centers, Hospitals, Power plants, military facilities, etc.).
· The candidate needs to be a self-starter and independent worker.
· Ability to solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.
· Previous vendor negotiation and management skills for Data Center and/or upgrade construction contracts.
· Ability to write and review accurate and complete support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries.
· Shows good judgment and instincts in decision making under pressure.
· Ability to prioritize in complex environment.
· Proactively and continually improve his/her level of knowledge about Amazon’s business and relevant technologies.
· Able to demonstrate his/her ability to take ownership of technical issues brought to him/her by his/her customer base. If the candidate is unable to resolve certain issues by themselves, he/she should demonstrate a willingness to actively engage other support teams to drive it to resolution.
· An interest in work subject matter that ensures that the teams are kept abreast of all relevant industry standards changes
