Technical Supervisor - Preopening, DoubleTree by Hilton, Fujairah, UAE

An Engineer/Technician will support the Engineering Team to efficiently maintain all hotel operations such that safety, security, conversation, and compliance are ensured at the highest levels.

What will I be doing?

A Technical Supervisor, you will support the Engineering Team to ensure that engineering and maintenance operations within the hotel, including general property maintenance energy conservation, are working properly and to standard. You are also responsible for the development of the Engineering Team and staying abreast of compliance regulations and procedures in the field of Engineering, as required for hotel standards. Specifically, an Engineer will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

Perform day-to-day routine and preventative maintenance within the hotel rooms
Respond promptly and efficiently to any maintenance calls that arise
Execute the preventative maintenance schedule and ensure all equipment and designated areas are maintained to the required standard
Assist in the implementation of energy conservation program
Recommend maintenance system improvements and energy savings
Maintain all tools, equipment, and working areas in good condition
Keep your technical training knowledge and skills up to date

What are we looking for?

A Technical Supervisor serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

A certificate in a specialized field such as Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, Carpentry, or Plumbing, required
Current working knowledge of general maintenance and engineering work
Experience in the Maintenance Department of a large hotel, hospital, ship, and/or restaurant complex or similar
Strong work ethic
A passion for delivering great customer service
Ability to work without close supervision and within established timeframes

Job Description

Meeting with the software/product designers to determine quality assurance parameters.

Leading the QA team in designing QA test procedures.

Overseeing the drafting of testing documents.

Implementing testing procedures and overseeing the QA process.

Troubleshooting quality issues and modifying test procedures.

Conducting analysis checks on product specifications.

Reviewing Quality Assurance reports.

Ensuring the successful deployment of products into the market, and on the different environments (Cloud, On-premises, mobile, API, etc…)

Responding to requests from the design team and management.

Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.

Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.

Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.

Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.

Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.

Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.

Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.

Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.

Monitor debugging process results.

Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.

Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts

Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies.

Architect, implement and manage automated suites of black-box and white-box test scripts.

Coordinate the work efforts of Engineers and Analysts in the execution of testing efforts.

Utilize tools such as code coverage tools to assess the coverage of test suites and make recommendations for additional test cases.

Lead monitoring of test execution across multiple code branches and multiple platforms

Lead documentation reviews during product release cycle to ensure quality and comprehensive product documentation.

Help in obtaining standard industry certifications/credentials including, but not limited to, load testing, security, vulnerability testing, etc…

Apply standardized QA methodology and Software development best practices for managing iterations, builds and releases.

Manage release notes full life cycle

Deep understanding of the software business rules, modes and inner workings to identify the best testing scenarios, preparation of test environments and crafting test data set to be used against each one separately.

Requirements

Fluent in object-oriented programming with minimum 3 years of use of OO languages (C++, C#) for development or QA purposes

Experience testing complex, multi-threaded, and multi-component products

Experience with API testing or integration

Minimum 5 years of experience in a QA role

Extensive experience in a scripting language such as: PERL, Python, Ruby, JavaScript

Strong working knowledge of SQL and Relational Databases

Debugging and Crash Log Analysis/Review

Experience with automated load/stress and performance testing and tools

Strong ability to work in fast-paced environment and ability to multitask with ease is essential to the success of this position.

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Comfortable building and maintaining test systems from scratch.

Experience with virtual environment such as VMWare

Innovative, analytical approach to solving complex test problems and performing troubleshooting.

Track record of leading complex test projects in a hands-on way and mentoring others in test automation design and implementation

Capable of understanding and documenting incidents. Effectively manage incident information and test status information to improve product and process.

Excellent knowledge of QA methodology and Software development processes (Agile Scrum, RUP, IEEE, etc.)

Extensive experience with various types of testing including unit, system, integration, user acceptance, regression, usability, and end-to-end testing.

Our client is a leading sports organization in the gulf region looking for a procurement officer to provide support in the execution of all procurement related activities in accordance with the established procurement policies and procedures to ensure that the operational requirements of all departments are met at the highest standards possible.

Key Responsibilities will include

Handle the complete procurement cycle for low to non-critical goods and services under the supervision of the Senior Specialist Procurement to ensure the procurement needs are met in a quick and effective manner.
In coordination with the Finance department, track purchase orders in order to ensure that products/services are received on time.
Log material purchase orders and contract information accurately onto the system in order to maintain a complete documentation and so that recording and filing is accurate and up-to-date at all times.

Prepare and review purchasing files, reports and price lists, comparing prices, specifications and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers, maintaining a database of all relevant data.
Assist in the evaluation of vendor’s performance based on the inputs of contract and achievement of the contract obligations to identify the most suitable vendors for any potential work involvement in the future.
Preserve awareness of market developments in purchasing techniques, product technology and supply market activity in order to stay up-to-date, identifying and exploiting commercial opportunities.

Who we're looking for

Must have Bachelor degree in Business Administration. Additional qualifications or professional degrees in the field are an advantage.
Must have minimum 5-6 years of relevant experience in procurement and/or other related fields working in large corporates and complex environments.
Professional Reporting skills and Good command of English and Arabic languages
