We are now looking for Senior/Lead Piping Engineer to execute projects and support bids in Abu Dhabi, UAE. 

Reports To

The Senior/Lead Piping Engineer, reports to Line Manager, Layout and Piping.

Job Overview

The Senior/Lead Piping Engineer is responsible for handling engineering design review and analysis assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in oil & gas.

In your role, you will lead and execute piping engineering projects in a safe manner, budget, schedule, and quality.

You should have a desire to work on multi-discipline local as well overseas projects and be able to drive discipline goals by working together with the assigned discipline designers and engineers.

Senior/Lead Piping Engineer shall be technically qualified (Bachelor Degree in Engineering with 15 years’ minimum Oil & Gas experience and Min. 8 years in senior role) in discipline Piping, 2D/3D CADD systems, specifically in Engineering Designs and interdisciplinary layout preparation utilizing the 2D/3D Modeling techniques.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Act as lead and interact with the project engineering manager for solving technical problems arising during project development
  • Ability to review Client's technical documentation and requirements, interpret topographical and geotechnical survey inputs, carry out detailed site surveys, verification, and data collection;
  • Able to do lay-out study, tie-in, feasibility study, design basis, independently able to develop piping deliverables, the scope of work, work definitions, piping specifications, datasheets, requisitions, piping engineering calculations, technical bid evaluation, vendor document review, MTO
  • Must have good knowledge of ASME 31.3 and extensive experience with ADNOC / Shell DEP standards
  • Must have good knowledge and understanding of piping drawings (layouts, GAD’s, isometrics, plot plan).
  • Able to organize inputs and supervise for preparation of piping drawings, support design, material take-offs, calculations, material specifications, datasheets, and material requisitions as per ASME 31.3
  • Mandatory software skills in Microstation, and ACAD, CAESAR-II and all other necessary software to perform duties as Lead Piping Engineer.
  • Should be able to carry out stress analysis independently and shall be able to lead a group of Stress Analysts.
  • Understand the interface within the multi-discipline project
  • Should take full responsibility for proper and timely execution of project deliverables ensuring full compliance with the quality management system and any project-specific contractual requirements.
  • Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines and project management teams.
  • Coordinate with members of the piping discipline, other engineering disciplines within the organization or project team as well as with Clients, third parties, vendors, etc.
  • Participates in progress review meetings and be aware of project status, progress, delays, change notices, performance measurement, lessons learned, and close-out.
  • Ability to prepare documents for piping related workshops such as model reviews for lay-out and actively participate in the same
  • Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, material quantity, and budget control
  • Takes personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects
  • Is able to produce proposals for projects which involve man-hour and schedule estimates for piping discipline
  • Should be able to add value plus/ optimization ideas
  • Cooperating with other engineering disciplines, customers and subcontractors locally or overseas
  • Able to do Technical Bid Evaluations of selected Vendor Offers
  • Check the piping engineering deliverables created by designers and draughters

Qualifications

  • Engineering Graduate (BEng, BSc. or MSc.) in Mechanical or Technical related degree.
  • Minimum of 15 years relevant engineering experience in Piping Engineering ASME B31.3.
  • Minimum of 8 years in a senior role
  • Good leadership and coordination, analytic and pro-active approach competence in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Chemical Industries.
  • Willingness to overcome challenges and pressure during the peak of the project.
  • Willing to do extensive site-surveys during project execution.
  • UAE local experience is added value.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent in the English language

Laboratory Technician I, Core Laboratories, Abu Dhabi, UAE

 LABORATORY TECHNICIAN I


JOB SUMMARY
Performs routine laboratory tests under close supervision to determine chemical or physical characteristics designated by the client.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.
  • Receive and log field samples. Assist in general lab activities.
  • Read and understand all analysis and safety standards in English, including ASTM, UOP, and IP. 
  • Assist senior laboratory personnel in setting up, adjusting and operating laboratory equipment for which the technician has been adequately trained and has been verified to operate correctly in accordance with applicable standards and sound laboratory practice.
  • Assist in or perform basic analytical tests from well-defined standards and procedures as assigned by the Laboratory Manager.  Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment. 
  • Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas. Understand and be able to complete laboratory raw data sheets and make accurate entries into laboratory computer programs.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
A high school graduate or equivalent required.  Bachelor of Science degree preferred and at least two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret instructional and technical materials relating to procedures and safety; and applicable government regulations.  Ability to write applicable reports and correspondence clearly.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, schedulers and clients in English. Arabic is a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and quantities (linear, volumetric, or weight) and to read and interpolate applicable data and tables.  Able to draw and interpret applicable graphs and control charts.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule formats.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Familiarity with basic computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet programs is helpful but not required; however Laboratory Technicians must possess the capability to learn these applications through instruction provided by ProTechnics.

Assist in calibrating laboratory instruments for which the technician has been adequately trained and has been verified to operate correctly in accordance with applicable standards and sound laboratory practice.
Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
Exercise procedural, safety and quality requirements specified in laboratory and safety manuals and company policies.
Attend training and pass appropriate examinations in petroleum, chemical and gas analysis, including Right-to-Know training, hazardous materials disposal, and other safety and compliance training required by applicable regulations.
Understand and be able to complete laboratory raw data sheets and make accurate entries into laboratory computer programs.
Attend regular safety meetings

 

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required
At least one-year related laboratory experience and/or training preferred
Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Access).
Ability to read and follow basic methods and safety standards, including ASTM, UOP, IP and other well-defined analytical standards and procedures used in the laboratory.
Ability to write basic routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak professionally with customers or employees of organization.
