ROLE SUMMARY
Maximize the potential of the AstraZeneca therapeutic portfolio through professional and successful working relationships with internal and external customers. Manage the promotion, pricing, and positioning of the products in the relevant therapeutic portfolio, pre-post Launch strategy, development of a disease area vision and strategy, and effective resource allocation in order to optimize sales and profits. Strategize, write and implement the marketing plan for the brand.
What you’ll do
Operational Brand Management & Customer Excellence:
- Fully accountable for building & driving the brand strategy by providing customer insights acquired during interactions with external and internal customers
- Participate in the development of the Business Action Plan in close collaboration with the Marketing Head
- Drive the full implementation of the operational Business Action Plan in close collaboration with the key functional team members
- Keep the Business Action Plan updated and implement the plan to ensure that Brand objectives are realized, including revising the S&T to ensure complete coverage /expansion of the target list as per marketing strategy
- Lead the operational roll-out of the pre-agreed strategic and operational plan (campaign task force, monthly implementation meetings)
- Identify potential new market insight and collaborate with Market Intelligence to leverage all critical market data to refine action plans or prioritize activities.
- Develop and understand market research principles/sources/tools/methodology
- Work with local data to contribute to forecasting models.
Communication & Promotion:
- Develop all campaign material and all the briefing documents to ensure maximum impact
- Briefing and selection of agency and review performance of agency and costs to ensure optimal use of available financial resources
- Actively collaborate with the medical/Access team and/or Sales team with other support functions to ensure alignment with strategy.
- Be actively involved and leading of regional and national sales meetings/business reviews as required
- Ensure full compliance of material/activities with ethical and Code of Ethics (demonstrate and ensure active respect for values, business ethics, local laws, policies, and marketing procedures)
- Propose budget spending on the defined territory & is responsible for accurate budget management
- Prepare cost estimates for current activities, advertising / informing about AstraZeneca brand products, and investment budgets.
- Responsible for the implementation of promotional/communication strategies, plans, and programs in support of brand strategies and objectives
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key internal/external clients.
- Lead Brand Team, develop and implement plans for KEE development & marketing strategy implementation.
- Cooperates with Sales Managers to empower sales force, strengthening their capacity to implement business strategy. Though: field visits at regular intervals to gain insight on current and future marketing initiatives and ensure correct product information is delivered, providing training to the sales team on the promotional materials and product strategy, addresses internal/external questions in regards to brand strategy and promotional materials)
- Report on the status of implementation of the tactical plan to internal customers.
- Proactive assessment of brand performance, proposing needed actions to tap on opportunities, working without supervision, successfully addressing outstanding challenges of marketing strategy implementation
- Maintain close with KEE’s and other key customers, including those who have significant influence in the purchasing decisions with major hospitals/institutions for the assigned products.

- Maintains highest ethical standards and works in the spirit of AstraZeneca Code of Ethics, following rules & norms set by corporate policies
- Ensures that all conducted activities are done in accordance with local legislation and corporate standards.
- Timely reports (as per respective procedures): health/environment/wellbeing-related accidents; adverse events that you became aware of; change in status of your Conflict of Interest.
Essential for the role
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g., business or science/Pharma)
- Minimum of 3 years of marketing experience in the Pharmaceutical and/or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (demonstrated ability to network, build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and work cross-functionally).
- Cardiovascular, Renal, specialty TAs & New launch experience
- Strong expertise in market analysis, deep market research insights mining, forecast analysis, and business case development with scenario planning
- Market development and expansion work (Pre-Post launch)
- Excellent Interpersonal, organizational, Cross-functional cooperation and projects management skills
- Leadership & autonomy to initiate & execute responsibility under minimum guidance
- Proven inspirational leadership when working with teams on guidance, alignment & commitment.
- Financial business acumen and experience in working with various forecasting models with the ability to analyze data to formulate marketing plans.
- Effectiveness and Productivity - ability to maximize the use of resources and produce results.
- Stakeholders’ management to reach solutions and collaborates effectively with internal teams.
- Ability to handle setbacks & to work in a new environment, showing clear examples of resilience
- Proven competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, strong presentation skills
Desirable for the role
- Advanced degree(s) in Business or science
- Specialty medicines with complex ecosystems (patients, healthcare providers, systems, payer)
- Patient centricity - being passionate about really understanding patients, their attitudes to health, and who they interact with/are influenced by along the patient journey – to ensure patient needs are at the heart of decision-making.
- Translate information into actionable insight - rigorously analyzing and synthesizing multiple sources of information to uncover powerful new insights that can be applied to create business advantage, both now and in the future
- Building different portfolios - understanding the role of a comprehensive brand portfolio comprising differentiated and distinctive brands. Making clear choices to optimize the life cycle of brands across the AZ portfolio and to effectively service trends in the therapy area
- Define winning brand strategies - choosing the most promising brand opportunities and associated priority target audiences. Developing ambitious strategies to overcome barriers to success and truly build the brand.
- Generate game-changing ideas - unleashing and nurturing creativity to translate strategies into bold ideas that will connect with target audiences to change attitudes and deliver behavior change
- Design compelling experiences - creating holistic, motivating campaign experiences for multiple audiences across key touchpoints to drive positive change in attitudes and behavior.
- Execute with brilliance - delivering compelling experiences that help us create stronger connections with target audiences, rigorously reviewing performance and seizing opportunities to optimize in real-time, and to achieve greater effectiveness and efficiency
- Engage with the Broader organization - understanding broad business operations and optimizing relationships with cross-functional teams to inspire and mobilize them behind the experience plan. Applying sound commercial acumen to deliver patient benefit and optimal financial return.
