Baeshiqa Front End Engineering Manager, DNO, Dubai, UAE

DNO is a Norwegian oil and gas operator focused on the Middle East region and the North Sea. Founded in 1971, DNO is Norway’s oldest oil company. With a leading position in terms of reserves and production in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, DNO produces around 110,000 barrels of oil per day from the flagship Tawke field.

DNO is seeking a Engineering manager to lead an engineering team from Conceptual Design through life cycle of projects on Baeshiqa PSC to start up and Production Operations Support.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to all staff, 3rd party contractors and consultants involved in the Baeshiqa PSC
  • Lead the project multi-discipline engineering team
  • Manage 3rd party engineering teams and engineering consultants
  • Developing detailed engineering option for conceptual design against cost, quality and schedule
  • Lead research and development options that produce new designs and processes
  • Co-ordinate with managers, all engineering options for conceptual design
  • Accountable for technical integrity of all project deliverables. (Including, but not limited to AFE’s, CTR’s, Drawings, Calculations, Datasheets, Technical specifications, Material Requisitions, Technical bid evaluations, Schedules, MTO’s,) in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specification.
  • Define project engineering scope of work, deliverables and requirements, based on Contract scope of work, relevant Company specifications and other governing documents.
  • Plan and Implement the Engineering activities on projects and tenders according to Project execution model under the direction of Project Manager.
  • Lead, coordinate and manage the discipline groups and the engineering deliverables quality level to avoid non-value-added work to optimize manhours spent on projects.
  • Plan and identify resource requirements in consultation with Project Manager.
  • Hold regular project engineering team meetings as required keeping control of progress
  • Establish and maintain project technical risk register, interface control register, change control register.
  • Undertake any other general duties that may be requested. The list of duties is not exhaustive in any way and may change at any time.
  • Deputise for the Project Manager as required.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong academic background, preferably with a combination of technical and petroleum Engineering
  • > 10years experience for large capex expenditure (capex) projects, within the oil and gas industry. At least 5 years as a Engineering manager.
  • Wide range of technical skills through capital value process. Preferably Reservoir to Export life cycle.
  • Experience in design, set up and mobilisation of capex projects and there execution to successful completion.
  • Maintaining highest level of heath and safety.
  • Strong work ethic and proactive drive to deliver projects within cost, quality and schedule

Key Competencies: 

  • > 10+ year’s experience in oil and gas engineering, project management with 5 years in similar position
  • High level of experience in Capex project management
  • Experience in capital value process ensure cost benefit analyses through life cycle of projects

  • Strong leadership with demonstrated success creating and managing a highly motivated and efficient team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to lead complex technical options ensuring cost benefit analysis.
  • Strong cost, quality, planning assurance in front end conceptual studies and risk analysis for capex option following gated process for life cycle of appraise, define, select and execute.

The role reports to Project Manager and will be based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Work schedule is 5 days a week (Monday - Friday).

Responsibilities:

  • Develops long term sales pipeline to increase the company's market share in specialized area.
