Project Coordinator, HKS, Dubai, UAE

 HKS Dubai is seeking a Project Coordinator to join the team.


A recognized practitioner who possesses strong design and technical abilities and manages implementation documentation. Manages the firm’s resources (people, processes and tools) and assignments with proficiency, fluency and aptitude. Teaches and mentors staff and effectively embodies and expresses the firm’s values and mission.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborates and leads consultants and technical team efforts to facilitate effective execution of project design and the delivery of implementation documents
  • Works with PIC/PM in developing and managing the production schedule, including effectively defining and meeting deadlines
  • Prepares, reviews and coordinates implementation documents prior to issue, including verifying implementation documents conform to QA/QC and HKS standards, best practice and quality expectations
  • Manages the technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of a project
  • development of code analysis and confirm code and zoning requirements for assigned segment of project are met
  • Coordinates design group interaction both internally and externally, including leading consultant team work sessions
  • Maintains open communication with client and provides guidance through projects
  • Coordinates with project managers, clients, public agencies, consultants and contractors to incorporate engineering systems, to respond to requests for information, clarifications and modifications and to obtain approvals and adjust scope of services
  • Prepares client presentations, concepts ,drawings  and clarification sketches
  • Exercises skills of persuasion and negotiation on critical issues
  • Performs product research; assists project designers with materials and systems evaluation to make proper selections
  •  Ensures appropriate application of products and materials available on the market and best practices
  • Maintains awareness of risk management for potential project issues and involves PIC/PM if needed
  • Leads and participates in team meetings to discuss project issues, technical issues and coordination with other disciplines
  • Attends on-site visits, field reviews and project meetings and documents as appropriate

May be responsible for preparing and/or reviewing meeting minutes for consultant coordination meetings

Qualifications:

  • Accredited professional degree in Architecture or related field preferred
  • Architectural Registration preferred
  • Typically, with 8+ years of experience in equivalent quality design firms
  • Sustainable design accreditation or related field accreditation preferred
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Proficiency in architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and 3D modeling software  required
  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup and InDesign graphic software preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines
  • Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems, accessibility guidelines and QA/QC process
  • Advanced knowledge of building codes and ability to research and incorporate into implementation documents
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to problem solve and apply innovative solutions
  • Ability to collaborate and encourage collaboration in a team environment
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality
  • Travel will be required

Proposal Manager, Fugro, Abu Dhabi, UAE

 Job Description

Basic Function

The role of Proposal Manager will be responsible for the coordination of the proposal process in accordance to Fugro procedure and standards. This involves duties from the review and, when required, preparation, of accurate tenders and proposals, contract negotiation and contract review, whilst liaising with the Project Management and Technical teams and providing support to the other Commercial, Business Development, Business Analysis and Legal team members. 

1.         Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervision and compilation of detailed proposals, assuming responsibility for risk assessment, cost preparation, time management, securing input on technical solutions and deliverables, submission planning and quality.

  • Determining strategy with the upper management team and implements the selected approach into a well-balanced offer to Client.

  • Taking responsibility and ownership of each assigned tender until project award.

  • Assists in Business Development & Project Management duties, expanding and developing the team’s contractual and commercial awareness, into effective results for the company.

1.1      Specific Additional Duties 

  • Actively participate in adherence to and improvement of the Company Management System on Quality and HSE related issues.

  • Obtain and maintain industry knowledge on current and new techniques/technologies

  • Active participation in knowledge exchange and populating market software/database information and continually follow up on a regular basis with Clients and establish

  • Maintain an effective networking facility within the locality. 

  • Participation in local & regional industry exhibitions will also be necessary at times.

2.         Principal Working Relationship 

  • Works closely under the guidance and advice of the Commercial Management team, Service Line Managers/ Directors, Regional Business Line Directors and Technical Managers.

Qualifications required:

  • Qualification in a science or engineering related disciplines (M.Sc or B.Sc).

  • Specific experience within a wide range of offshore geotechnical investigations projects. 

  • Other experience of geophysical, ROV, Diving and Construction support services is also desirable.

Skills / experience required to do the job:

  • Minimum of 8 years offshore relevant experience (in the field).

  • Five years related project management or similar department environment

  • Shall possess strong organisational skills and be able to effectively prioritise.

  • High degrees of initiative and attention to detail are essential. 

  • The ability to offer leadership and mentoring to subordinates is required, as well as offering support in strategy meetings for bid/project approach.

Role specific Behavioural competencies required:

  • Problem-solving/judgment: ability to observe, think critically and to solve problems using data, analysis, interpretation, and reasoning skills.

  • Teamwork: dedication and ability to work successfully with others in a team.

The Compliance Unit is responsible for ensuring that the Bank complies with all relevant external laws and regulations applicable in the various jurisdictions that the Bank operates in Significantly this includes compliance with Sanctions Anti Money LaunderingAML and Counter Terrorist FinancingCTF requirements not only of the countries that the Bank operates in but increasingly there is an expectation of compliance with those of key US and EU regulators

The Organization Unit achieves this by

  • Setting out the relevant regulatory requirements and expectations that the Bank must comply with in an Obligations Register which then maps these to the Banks policies procedures and processesincluding systems
  • Working with the business to monitor and set appropriate policies procedures and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements expectations and industry best practices
  • Providing official written and informal guidance and advice on Compliance matters to the respective businesses as and when requiredeg on a client product or transaction basis
  • Ensuring that appropriate training is given to all relevant staff on the Banks policies and procedures This includes the provision of training on key policies and procedures such as Sanctions AML and CTF
  • Undertaking periodic risk based Compliance Monitoring to ensure the Banks policies and procedures are being complied with and escalates to management significant noncompliance

Detailed Description:
The Payment Sanction Screening Compliance Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the Payment Screening Unit in managing the Groups AntiMoney LaunderingAML and Combating Terrorist FinancingCTF Program and for ensuring that all payments referred to Group Compliance through the Payments Screening SystemPSS are approved in line with Group requirements and local and international regulations
The incumbent should be able to display knowledge to combat AML in payments and work within the environment of high volumes in payments

Job Requirements:

  • Review of all payments referred by investigators for final decision to approve or reject
  • Performing a review of all payments referred to EI Compliance through the Payments Screening System or from other trigger and within the agreed turnaround times and approve or reject the payment
  • Assess the supporting documents and arrive at a reasonable decision driven by facts and policy guidelines
  • Handling of all queriesLive and Post received from correspondent bank for further review investigation and onward submission
  • Performing a review of all queriesLive and Post received from correspondent bank follow up with the respective Business units assess the supporting documents and arrive at a reasonable decision driven by facts and policy guidelines preparing final response and responsible for onward submission to Tanfeeth unit Correspondent bank within the agreed turnaround times
  • Followup any declined payments
  • Initiate and demonstrate evidence of follow up with the Business Units for a compliance report on all declined payments as per agreed procedures and necessary action on the relationship
  • Assist the PSS Manager in providing ongoing advice guidance and support regarding all paymentSanctions and AML related queries
  • Reviewing transactions analyzing AMLsanctions impact advising on requirements
  • Enhancing of AMLsanctions controls through the addition of prohibited namesentities to internal watchlists
  • Assist the PSS Manager in executing all decisions on additionsdeletions related to the Payments Screening System to ensure that the AMLsanctions risk to the Group are effectively managed
  • Provide support to the PSS Manager in all PSS projectrelated initiatives
  • Assisting the PSS Manager with system enhancements coverage of additional business areas and any testing required by Group Compliance as well projectrelated tasks required
  • Completion of various projects which have been assigned by the PSS ManagerHOD in a timely manner
  • Initiate and assist the PSS Manager with ad hoc tasks requests and projects
  • Raising SARs on customers where warranted

a Analyse and investigate the underlying reasons behind queries returns on transactions from Correspondent Banks
b Write STRs where warranted for the customers with suspicious transactions
