Job Summary:
Procurement Category Lead primary responsibility is to Lead Snacks Logistics & Services portfolio across Gulf & Levant Food (Major scope is Saudi), managing within the MSO / COE organization a total spend of $ 50 MM, through (1) Defining and executing category strategies, Risk Management, Supplier Relationship Management, Innovation and New Product Development (2) Measuring and Improving Performance, (3) Achieving Annual Plans and Delivering Productivity through transformational ideas.
Key Responsibilities::
- In close collaboration with the GP MSO, draft & implement category strategies, using systematic 7 step strategic sourcing approach.
- Participate and lead cross-functional category teams, using RACI model.
- Manage category on a Business Unit level and leverage from PepsiCo's scale in the region.
- Work closely with Sector & Global teams:
- To develop category annual and long-term strategic sourcing targets
- Plan and monitor category Productivity / Savings (for the current year and over 3-5 years horizon).
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives from procurement side for the category.
- Evaluate & evolve sourcing strategy based on changing market conditions and drive strategic sourcing activities, including internal and external analysis and negotiations.
- Ensure implementation of sourcing strategy / plans, compliance monitored, and benefits tracked (in close collaboration with the Supply & Planning teams) in line with the procurement policy & practices
- Closely liaise with main business stakeholders in food plants in region.
- Align category strategy with business stakeholders; one focal point to represent "Logistics & Services" category internally (peer level) and externally (suppliers)
- Ensure implementation of best-in-class sourcing tools, relevant to the category.
- Lead category negotiations and manage contracts with suppliers
- Track supply market, share evolving category trends, monitor supplier performance and share benchmarking against industry / market standards.
- Own Local / Regional Supplier Relations and strengthen partnerships in best interests of lowest total cost for the company.
- Develop and share category Performance scorecards & action plans
Qualifications/Requirements
- 8 years of experience in FMCG Sourcing / Procurement.
- Indirects Sourcing Experience is desired.
- Experience in using advanced sourcing methodologies/ tools
- Strategic sourcing experience in Middle East & Africa
- Skilled in managing a dispersed team of business stakeholders in different countries; strong selling skills
- Go-To-Person on Performance Metrics, and Best Practices around Metrics.
- Master’s degree in Business or Engineering.
- Multinational & multilingual experience is a plus.
- Proven Project management expertise
