The Team


Our highly respected Financial Services Industries (FSI) team is built on deep industry sector expertise with a demonstrably differentiated ability to address the most complex business problems and deliver dramatic and sustainable business performance improvements. Focused on enterprise-wide change to help drive EBITDA improvement, our highly experienced experts successfully work with clients in strategic transformation situations, where a client is looking to sustainably improve their performance and profitability, or respond to external changes such as competitor dynamics and industry disruption. We provide advisory services to commercial banks, NBFC’s, insurance companies, regulators, central banks, sovereign wealth funds and public finance institutions across multiple functions including strategy and performance improvement, transformation and implementation, revenue improvement, risk mitigation and regulatory approval, due diligence and post-merger integration amongst others.

The Role

We are looking for Associates to join our UAE or KSA offices. Working with some of the brightest and most experienced colleagues in the industry, you will develop and implement forward-looking concepts and support your clients in the context of strategy, performance improvement, transformation, implementation, pre- and post-deal support, and others.

As an associate, you will be working closely with your project manager and other senior members of the team. You will own workstreams and independently develop ideas and solutions to address the client’s issues, with moderate oversight.

The Responsibilities

From the beginning, you will work in a fast-growing and dynamic team to:

  • conduct rapid diagnostics into companies’ strategy, market position, revenues, cost base, profitability, and operations, this includes performing zero-defect data analysis and understanding results to examine root cause of problems with minimal oversight from senior members

  • synthesize information and analysis into high quality client reports and recommendations; this includes building models based on financial and/or operational data which requires excellent knowledge of Excel (to analyse the data) and PowerPoint (to present the analyses)

  • Maximize efficiency and proactively find solutions to increase productivity; employ the pareto principle on assigned deliverables to determine where to devote energy to optimize results

  • take ownership of workstreams and generate viable solutions, with moderate oversight and guidance

  • understand and manage processes for assigned workstream, and meet assigned deadlines

  • build mid-level client relationships, and understand needs of mid-level management in day-to-day interactions

  • support the team to identify a portfolio of high-impact opportunities across the enterprise, ranging from quick wins to the ‘tough calls’ that deliver transformational results

  • support managing directors and other senior members of the team with client pitch production

  • actively participate in firm building committees and initiatives such as recruiting, learning and development, culture, marketing, and finance

The Requirements

To be considered, you must possess:

  • excellent financial skills and analytical rigour

  • a high-grade bachelor’s degree (or equivalent/higher) from an accredited top-tier university in business, engineering, legal, accounting or similar disciplines are preferred but not essential

  • master’s degree / MBA from a top-tier university or at least 2 years of prior full-time experience, preferably in management consulting or financial services roles such as banking, asset management, etc.

  • passion to further develop skills and solve challenges in financial services industries

  • strong problem-solving skills and financial background combined with deep understanding of business and operational drivers

  • high integrity that is characterised by the ability to deliver messages even when they are difficult to hear

Desirable

  • previous experience in financial services sector (commercial banks, investment banks, finance companies etc.)

  • Arabic language skills are desirable but not essential

  • additional European languages are also desirable

    THE POSITION 

    Based in Dubai, the selected candidate will be joining a small team of proffesional regulatory experts and will be reporting to the Head of Regulatory Affairs /GULF. The position is ideal for talented people looking for learning and carreer growth.  

    Tasks & responsibilities 

    • Obtaining local marketing authorisations and appropriate legal approvals and maintains licenses for products/ sites and seeks approval for product/ site re-registration on permit / license expiry in accordance with the local legislations.
    • Lead all the regulatory activities in all stages of the product lifecycle (for product of concern) including, but not limited to data collection, Artwork creation, corporate submission, product launch (works closely with Marketing and Sales departments), Insert leaflet updates, product variation and ongoing product maintenance.
    • Maintains data integrity of systems and databases.
    • Maintains effective communication with Marketing and Medical Affairs Departments to ensure that the product information integrity and communicates changes in product content where necessary.
    • Maintains regulatory compliance of products with internal and external bodies at the international, regional and local levels. Adapts local requirements and procedures to corporate standards.
    • Maintains effective communication with key stakeholders in the Marketing, Medical Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Logistics, and Finance & Administration Department..

     

    Requirements 
    - Bachelor degree in Pharmacy or other medical sciences

    - 2-5 years of regulatory affairs experience with multinational company in GULF region. 

    - Fluency in Arabic & English languages (Spoken, written and read)

     - Familiarity of regulatory affairs systems of data recording and artwork development

     - Knowledge of Regulatory & registration regulations within the GULF region.

     - Good computer  & Microsoft applications skills

     Meta is seeking a talented and dynamic counsel to join the MEA Data Protection legal team. The role involves advising clients across the business on various legal risks and obligations under data protection laws across the MEA region. The role is a great opportunity for any candidate who is keen to tackle some of today’s toughest and important legal challenges in this cutting-edge area of law. You must have flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and organizational needs. In addition, you must have the ability to operate independently in a small but growing international legal team, working on issues in a vibrant, face-paced environment. This role will provide strategic and tactical legal counseling to internal legal, product, operations and business teams on a range of privacy, data protection, and security related legal and compliance initiatives and disputes for the Meta Companies. This role will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with data protection regulators throughout both the Middle East or Africa. This is a full-time position.

    Associate General Counsel, Data Protection, Middle East and Africa (MEA) Responsibilities
    • Assist product lawyers in evaluating the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance and enforcement actions, and other related guidelines on product features
    • Support members of the legal, business, and policy teams on privacy and security-related legal matters, including areas related to partnerships, acquisitions, integrations, and other business development opportunities
    • Develop MEA regulatory strategy in connection with new product features and initiatives, and coordinate responses to inquiries from data protection regulators in those regions
    • Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving privacy analysis and compliance with stakeholders across Facebook's business, policy, legal, communications, security, and other departments
    • Work with the wider legal team on MEA regulatory and litigation matters
    • Help draft and oversee the development and management of Meta (and its affiliates') terms and data policies across the full range of Meta’s different products
    • Help develop and conduct general and role-specific MEA data protection trainings across Meta
    Minimum Qualifications
    • 8+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or prior in-house experience with internet or technology companies (applicable litigation, regulatory, or product counseling will be considered)
    • Experience with global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant for social media and Internet companies
    • Lawyer qualified to practice law in at least one jurisdiction in the Middle East or Africa. Lawyers with non-MEA or other international law qualifications are welcome to apply
    • Knowledge of, or fluency in, French, Arabic, Turkish, at least one MEA regional dialect, and/or other languages prevalent in the Middle East or Africa
    • Ability to prioritize work and provide advice under deadlines
    • Business judgment and client counseling experience
