Typical Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor in Commerce or Completed A levels or equivalent
  • ACCA - Should have completed a minimum of 9 papers (F1-F9)
  • CPA – Complete 2 papers
  • ICAEW – Complete Professional Stage
  • Knowledge in accounting concepts
  • Computer Literacy
  • 24 – 30 months’ work experience
  • Prior experience in deleaing in clients involved in real estate, construction and related industries and oil & gas sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Client & Customer Focus

  • Overall responsible for the audit as an in charge for medium and small clients. In case of large clients, act as semi senior.
  • Mentoring of Associate 1 and 2, trainees & assist them with the office orientation
  • Involved in planning and strategy of the audit
  • Monitoring budgets of the engagements
  • Reporting including annual financial statements, managements letters, key features memoranda, etc.
  • Ensuring that all review notes are cleared
  • Analytical review of full financial statements
  • Consolidations (specific high-risk areas)
  • Follow through to finalisation
  • Audit administration
  • Client relations – interaction with client staff
  • Preparation and updating of system documentation
  • Preparation / completion of general file documents
  • Analytical Review (AR) of financial statements
  • Specifically focused on audit of key financial statement captions e.g.

-Accounts payable (AP)

-Accounts receivable, excluding the evaluation of the provision for doubtful debts

-Fixed assets, excluding the assessment of capital work in progress and fixed policies when these audits are complex and more risky

-Inventory, including the evaluation of the obsolescence provision

-Investments, excluding complex financial instruments

  • Coaching, review and delegation of work performed by team members & ensure that the engagement reviews are completed within the given time
  • Updating of system documentation
  • Clearing review notes raised by the job in charge and mangers. Prior to management review conduct a thorough check on the working papers
  • Develop industry knowledge to complement functional skills
  • Compliance testing, including system work through
  • The audit of the client’s statutory records, internal controls and consolidated accounts
  • Attending stock counts and the follow up of the counts
  • Participates in the pre-engagement planning, with team members and client staff when needed. Discuss client’s need/expectations, team roles, budgets and other things necessary to carry out the engagement.
  • Understand the client’s business, products, performance and accounting policies.
  • Adhere to the KPMG code of conduct and all KPMG risk management policies and procedures
  • Perform effective wrap-up of engagement, assisting manager/partner after leaving the field, clearing all review notes, assisting manager with report issuance/concurring review process, placing files to disks/network and complying with document retention policy, binding and filing work papers in the office.

Linguistic skills

Good communication skills in English (Reading, writing and speaking)

Arabic would be an advantage

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting/Commerce, Membership with professional bodies such as CPA(US/UK/Australia) will be added advantage
  • 3-5 Years’ of Experience in Oil & Gas industry in similar position
  • Experience in Well Services industry will be added advantage
  • Fluent in English (verbal & written)
  • Strong systems skills, including Microsoft Office Applications, ERP and computerised Accounting systems
  • Strong experience in computerisation of accounts, filing periodic tax returns, related payments
  • Must have a solid understanding of local and International tax legislation including personal, corporate and contributory filing and well as Intercompany transactions

DUTIES / TASKS

  • Prepare & maintain all bookkeeping functions including but not limited to Revenues, Commissions, Expenses, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Banking, Assets & Depreciation, Provisions and Accruals.
  • Ensure all transactions are recorded appropriately on a Monthly basis, based on accrual and reported by Business line, Business Area and Legal Unit (Casing, Rental, and Well-Intervention).
  • Analyse and reconcile all balance sheets accounts, including but not limited to AP/AR, Intercompany, Banks, Deposits, Asset & Depreciation schedules.
  • Assist in customer invoicing, submission and follow-up on collections.
  • Accurate coding and recording of revenue & expenses to respective business line, Business Area, legal Unit, project order and month it relates to.
  • Allocation of Local and regional Common cost to each business line, Business Area, legal Unit based on preapproved percentage.
  • Prepare all Monthly & Yearly financial statement per business line, Business Area, legal Unit and completed in accordance with closing schedule.
  • Ensure compliance to all required internal & external audits, cost reporting and tax filings & returns.
  • Active participation and preparation of annual fiscal budget process, projections/prognosis throughout fiscal year; analysing actuals results with budget/prognosis on a monthly basis and report on variances.
  • Actively coordinate with corporate banks/auditors/lawyers/tax consultants, etc.
  • Take a lead to manage all payable functions, handling accounting issues and answering accounting questions to local and regional management.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen the internal controls.
  • Make and follow up goals, action plans and strategy for the department.
  • Budget and result responsibility, hereunder to comment and follow up the accounts and finance.
  • Report cost, progress and deviation in projects and daily operations.
  • Maintain and develop good relations and good service towards our customers and suppliers.
  • Contribute to cooperation/experience transfer between the different environments and departments within OWS.
  • Follow rules and procedures, react and report incidents, dangerous behavior and dangerous situations.
  • Continuously improve and update procedures and routines for the department. Implement and follow up actions to ensure high quality in our services and deliveries.
  • Other projects as assigned.

GENERAL:

Overview of the Position

Greenstone Equity Partners is seeking an intelligent, motivated individual to work in its Legal department, assisting the General Counsel in the full range of legal issues pertaining to an SME, which includes drafting, reviewing and negotiating all company contracts, handling litigation, drafting internal policies, conducting legal research, provide timely advice and guidance on all legal matters and keeping up-to-date with new and amended regulations pertaining to the company’s business. The successful candidate will have a solid training in Law, preferably with a number of years’ experience working for a similar sized company, with a knowledge UAE rules and regulations and a fundamental understanding of drafting legal documentation.

Specifics of the Position


The role will require the candidate to, amongst other tasks:

  1. General administrative tasks for the General Counsel.
  2. Conduct legal research and keep abreast of any changes to applicable regulations.
  3. Work with the Partner Relations team to populate, review and negotiate the company’s agreements with its potential clients.
  4. Work with all departments to draft, review and negotiate all company contracts, including employment agreements, audit agreements, and any third-party service agreements.
  5. Communicate key contract terms with relevant internal stakeholders.
  6. Draft and update internal policies.
