The Arts & Activities coordinator will serve as the point person for PK-12 events and activities
related to extra-curriculum performing and visual arts departments. He/she will support the
planning, publicizing, organization and execution of student activities and events to include those
that are local as well as related to external partnerships and will maintain a 20% teaching load in
the performing or visual arts departments at the school. Additionally, he/she liaises and
coordinates events and activities schoolwide with the key stakeholders including, but not limited
to: performing and visual arts teams, students, administrators, community groups/vendors and
external organizations in the planning and execution of schoolwide events.
The Arts and Activities Coordinator will ensure consistency in the scheduling, planning and
availability of programming ensuring that ASD students have access to arts as well as athletics
as they seek to fulfill their full potential. He/she will manage the arts and activities budget and
programs within ASD’s established standards and policies.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable working with students of all ages and will be masterful
at organizing, planning and executing programs while maintaining excellent interpersonal and
problem solving skills. This position reports to the Director of Athletics and Campus Life.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Teaching a visual or performing arts class, not less than 20% of the time
● Plan and monitor the arts and activities budget
● Develop student participation guidelines, procedures as required
● Schedule arts events to maximize student’s ability to participate
● Attend student meetings and social events as required
● Publicize events and activities to the school community
