The role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to come and join our Finance Team. Providing both administration and support, this role plays an integral part in helping the team achieve their goals and purpose.  

 Key responsibilities include:

    Bank transaction processing and reconciliations
    Manage accounts receivable and support accounts payable processing
    Payroll administration
    Assisting with month-end close and statutory reporting
    Preparation of GST and PAYE returns  

What will you bring?

    Tertiary accounting qualification or equivalent
    A minimum of three years in a similar role working to NZ accounting standards
    Advanced computer skills on MS Office, integrated accounting software and databases
    Knowledge of payroll processing is preferred
    High attention to detail and accuracy
    Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
    Strong communication skills and an ability to build sound working relationships.

Our client, Pacific Clinical Research Network is a group of private research facilities, with a number of sites across New Zealand. The Accounts Administrator is key to ensuring the company runs efficiently and will be an integral in ensuring things happen on time, every time. At this stage, offering 32 hours per week over four days, there is the possibility that this role could become full-time as the Network grows.


This role has some key responsibilities, including:

    Overseeing account payables and receivables, including online banking
    Supplier statement reconciliations
    Bank and credit card reconciliations
    Set up and maintenance of suppliers
    Invoicing of franchise fees and sponsors
    Debt management
    Payroll preparation
    Assistance with end of month processing, reconciliations, and reporting
    Preparation of GST returns
    Privacy compliance
    Working with the external accountant
    Assisting the Directors or senior management team as and when required.


If you are the person we are looking for, you will have experience in accounting or bookkeeping particularly accounts administration, as this is a key function. Excellent numeracy and computer literacy including Xero, Word, Excel is required to enable you to perform successfully in this role. Experience using payroll is desirable but not essential, but will be a requirement of the position. As this role is based predominantly based from home, you must be able to self-manage, have excellent time management and prioritisation skills while delivering a high degree of accuracy and professionalism at all times.

The Graduate Accountant role supports the business operations and sits within the South Island Hub Finance function. The successful applicant will possess:

    A Bachelor of Commerce preferred
    Experience in accounts receivable and collections

    Excellent relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers
    Assertive, persuasive, proactive, and a team player attitude
    A very strong customer focus, a high level of accuracy, and a keen eye for detail
    An intermediate to advanced level of skill with Excel
    Previous experience is essential

JOB SUMMARY

The Consultant -Pulmonology plans, directs, administers and supervises patient care activities for Pulmonology patients in accordance with Ministry of Health regulations, Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and Internal Medicine Department Policy and Guidelines. Reports on matters relating to patient care division to the MD through the Clinical Director.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Operational Duties

    Provides Inpatient and Outpatient consultations to patients with symptoms or history of lung diseases and conditions such as emphysema, asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, etc
    Receives referrals and consultations from other disciplines for breathing problems
    Utilizes clinical privileges for admission of patients, examination, treatment and performing procedures
    Examines patients for symptoms indicative of breathing disorders or lung disease, using medical instruments and equipment.
    Prepares and reviews case histories and clinical records of patients and plans treatment and medical management options
    Recommends or orders tests such as, X-rays, CT scans, MRIs and clinical laboratory tests to determine extent of illness
    Interprets test results and evaluates examination findings, analyzes records and reports to diagnose patients' condition
    Prescribes/ administers treatment, therapy, medication and other specialized medical care to treat diseases or conditions
    Monitors patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary
    Manages record keeping, patient charts and all required patient and Hospital records as needed

    Patient Care

    Considers the patient’s safety as the first priority while working.
    Includes the patients in discussions concerning appropriate diagnostic and management procedures.
    Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care needs.
    Maintains a work environment that promotes high standards for patient care and ethical behavior.
    Participates regularly with other department staff, in decision-making related to patient care

    Compliance with Medical Ethics
    Ensures implementation of the standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of Pulmonology.
    Exhibits appropriate personal and interpersonal professional behavior; practices medicine ethically and stays consistent with the obligations of a physician.
    Respects the opinions of Consultants, fellow Specialists and referring Physicians in the management of patient problems; provides means whereby differences in opinion can be discussed and resolved.
    Recognizes limits of personal skills and knowledge by appropriately consulting other Physicians while caring for the patient.
    Shows a pattern of maintaining current personal clinical skills and knowledge by continuing medical education.

    Other Duties

    Provides leadership and participates in organizational performance improvement activities
    Provides teaching materials as part of the professional development of the Department staff.
    Plans for the provision of orientation, in service and continuing education programs, along with other consultants of the department
    Attends regularly scheduled meeting for the improvement of patient care services and delivery
    Accepts all other additional assignments found necessary by the Clinical Director- Internal Medicine
