As the Terminal Operations Duty Manager, you will manage and administer 24/7 all Customer Services related activities in operations to deliver high and consistent standard of service to all passengers and customer airlines, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in deployment of QAS resources to meet the requirement for handling all services, including and not limited to: Passenger Services, check-in, Boarding Gates, Arrivals, VIP, PRM, Lounges, Porter, and Trolley.

    Responsible for overall QAS passenger terminal operations, financial, and administration aspects, driving excellence in service delivery for QAS in all aspects at Hamad International Airport. Responsible to plan and operate within approved budget.

    Responsible to develop and oversee implementation of terminal operational process and service to maximize the efficiency in operation. Develop staff with good potential for attaining higher level position by regular reviewing of work performance, assigning more challenges tasks and recommending appropriate training.

    Plans in advance and achieve proactive management of Qatar Aviation Service (QAS) terminal operations for a smooth and efficient handling of all QAS related services at Hamad International Airport.

    Conduct daily briefing to QAS management and perform shift briefings to duty team in the work shift.

    Report to QAS senior management on irregular airport operations, in advance when possible, as soon as the situation arises.

    Investigate, research, conclude, and report incident(s), accident(s), and service lapse(s) involving QAS resources in the passenger terminal and not limited to the Curb side Short Term Car Park (STCP),Employee car park or Entire Passenger Terminal Complex (PTC), in order to develop , select and implement the solutions to overcome the root cause(s) of incident(s), accident(s) and /or service lapse(s).

    Plan and organize QAS resources – manpower, equipment and facilities for ensuring effective and efficient deployment of QAS resources to meet handling requirement of QAS customer airlines, passengers, baggage and flights in current and network shift.

    Coordinate and accommodate, when possible, as well as maintain positive relationship with other QAS customer airlines’ representatives, airport authorities and airport agencies to support business objectives.

Qualifications

    An ideal candidate will have a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years of job-related experience or High School Qualification/Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 5 years of job-related experience

    Airport emergency and accident procedures

    Expert knowledge of ground handling operational procedures, Airport handling procedures

    Must possess a strong, decisive and collaborative leadership style and demonstrate the highest standards of integrity, equality and respect

    Ability to effectively communicate with clear, concise and consistent messages

About the role:


As a Flight Planning Manager, you will be responsible to support the Head of Terminal Services through the effective management of the flight planning section by providing tactical leadership to short and mid-term capacity optimization initiatives and resource management, in compliance with corporate and regulatory standards. Implementation of best practices to sustain business growth and drive business excellence.

    Implement and monitor QAS Cargo operational flight planning KPIs and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
    Assist QAS Cargo Management in the identification and optimization of the flight planning process to improve weight and position load factors on aircrafts.
    Organize, plan and monitor the flight planning team to ensure optimize interaction between QAS Cargo and QR departments. Manage flight-planning team to ensure build up planning is performed as per airline Flight Booking List (FBL).
    Plan and implement the current and future operational planning resource allocation and implementation based on the analysis if seasonality, events and macro environmental trends.
    Plan ULDs in accordance with FBLs priorities to optimize flight utilization.
    Optimize flight plans with additional uplift to enhance flight weight and position load factors.
    Recover and efficiently resolve offloaded shipments and communicate effectively to ensure minimal disruption for customers.
    Ensure that NOTOC’s are accurate and released on time in order for final destination processing and delivery.
    Address and resolve planning and buildup concerns with various stakeholders to streamline related process.
    Provide Warehouse and Ramp Offload analysis to QAS Cargo Management to drive continuous improvement.
    Ensure special products been segregated in line with aircraft types to minimize ramp offloads and handling.
    Plan and analyze ULD rotation(s) to minimize the imbalance at destination stations, ensuring shortage or overstock occurs.
    Produce accurate and timely Estimated Zero Fuel Weight (EZFW), Unit Weight Statements (UWS) and post departure messaging to meet defined KPIs.
    Report on KPIs Flown as Planned (FAP), UWS performance, FBL compliance and offload recovery to drive operational excellence.

Job description

Experience & Minimum Qualifications:

    Experience flying with a VIP and/or Business Aviation entity
    FAA licence
    5,000 hours total flying experience
    2000 hours as PIC on multi-engine Jet transport aircraft
    Gulfstream G650ER Rated, with a minimum of 500 hours time on-type as Pilot in Command
    Fully ATP licensed / type rated and proficient on the G650ER aircraft, with records readily available to confirm recency and training levels
    A current valid Class 1 medical
    English language proficient - certified level 6
    Evidence of no accident or incident reports on file with any licensing authority
    Extensive knowledge and understanding of aviation regulations, emergency procedures and best practice methods for VVIP aircraft operations

Job Purpose:

Generic Accountabilities
- Develops and maintains the highest standard service to airlines, freight forwarders, integrators and other customers that use the DWC Terminal by ensuring efficient delivery of all cargo products in compliance with ISO, IATA/ICAO and UAE GCAA Regulatory requirement.
- Reviews DWC Cargo mid and long term business direction and provides recommendations for improvement to help drive towards the attainment of DWC dnata cargo Objectives.
- Prepares and recommends Cargo budget to include manpower, expenditure and monitors financial performance versus the budget.
- Plans and implements contingency strategies to ensure any changes or challenges in cargo operations or in the industry are factored and dnata interest protected.
- Leads the implementation of Cargo policies, procedures and controls to ensure procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled.
- Manages effective achievement of departmental objectives by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisals in order to maximise performance (for both permanent and sub-contracted employees).
- Builds and maintains relationship with key stakeholders (Cargo, other airlines, integrators, airport agencies and authorities) to ensure business continuity and achievement of dnata strategy.
- Reviews root cause analysis and corresponding action items pertaining to accidents, near misses and recurring service failures to ensure that that the most efficient corrective action measures are recommended.
- Ensures compliance of all relevant safety policies, procedures and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.

Specific Accountabilities
- Leads employee engagement programs at DWC ensuring new employees at dnata cargo are fully trained and developed and are able to effectively contribute to DWC Operations.
- Ensures dnata DWC people KPIs are effectively managed against set target and just culture is promoted across DWC.
- Reviews DWC day of operation reports to ensure operational KPIs are tracked and corrective action taken when required.
- Represent dnata cargo and DWC at external forums ensuring dnata cargo is effectively represented and its interest protected.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor Degree in the relevant field of logistics

Experience
- 10 to12 years of experience in ground handling / cargo operations, majority of which should have been in a Leadership role

Job Purpose

    To design and deliver training programs and courses to all Air Arabia Ground Operations staff, GHAs, and Customer Airlines  in the specified Ground Handling area in accordance with Air Arabia standards and as per GCAA/CAA/IOSA/IATA set measures and regulations.
    Promotes and monitors excellence in trainings ensuring conformity in delivery across the hubs to maintain Company’s culture and corporate image.

Key Result Responsibilities

    Designs, and delivers job specific  training courses in the scope of ground operation in line with business needs with focus on highest safety, security and quality standards in performance,  in accordance with the Regulatory, Air Arabia, SAS and Customer Airlines policies and procedures.
    Monitors the adherence by trainees to policies, procedures, company uniform, PSE and grooming standards during the training sessions and after; addresses any misconduct or non-compliance to the line managers for corrective measures as and when required.
    Conducts training GAP analysis in the assigned training area for conformance and compliance with IATA recommended practices (IOSA,ISAGO) and GCAA requirements respectively.
    Ensures all updates on Ground Operations products, policies, procedures, documentation, and handover/takeover procedures are included in the training manuals and courses, and communicated to trainees in due time.
    Assists the new joiners by providing guidance and replies to enquiries on content as necessary.
    Collaborates with the “Manager - Ground Operations Training & Compliance” to evaluate and improve the training material in line with market best practices.
    Ensures documents and records are updated and kept in line with company’s requirements.
    Supports the manager in designing and implementing Computer Based training (CBT) in various subjects pertaining to ground operations and by continuously monitoring  the training contents of the CBT to reflect any revisions and changes when and as required.  

    Assists the Training Manger in acquiring GCAA approval and acceptance for the DGR training material.
    Monitors the training equipment, systems, software packages, and facilities to ensure they are available and well maintained; recommends maintenance and changes to existing set up as required.
    Keeps a track of Load control licenses renewal dates to ensure timely renewal of licenses in the assigned region.
    Cconducts necessary exams and assessments for trainees prior to issuing/renewing licenses; maintains records of certificates accordingly.
    Provides necessary support and arrangements to facilitate internal/external audit checks; ensures availability, update, and compliance of related documents, reports, attendance sheets and records with the approved standards.
    Demonstrates responsibility and contribution to implementing and developing the SMS in the respective area.
    Carries out field trips to assists in the start-up of hubs/stations; conducts familiarization sessions, product, system and procedures trainings as well as performance assessments to ensure successful training and smooth operations.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

    Bachelor’s degree in Management/ Education/ HR or equivalent from a recognized university; alternately, a diploma in the related field combined with necessary working experience.
    Must have professional training certificates such as “Train the Trainer”, “NLP”, and “Instructive Training” etc.
    Must have training experience in any of the following areas in Ground Handling Operations: Passenger Handling, Ramp Handling, or Load control.
    Must have Knowledge of Dangerous goods regulation and CBTA training approach.
    Knowledge of Weight and Balance Calculations is preferable
    Proficiency in Amadeus Departure control system (Altea CM and Altea FM)
    Basic Airport safety and security procedures and regulations training are a must.
    Project Management, Cost Control, Compliance, and Quality Assurance certificates and training are an added value.
    Excellent in written and verbal communication skills, report writing, presentations, public speaking, etc.
    Fluent in English Language, Russian speakers will be given preference.

Work Experience

    Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Ground/Cargo operations in Airlines/Aviation Industry/GHA with a minimum of 1 year at least in a similar capacity as a “Trainer” or “Instructor”.
    Must have delivered training courses in one or two of the following areas: Cargo, Ramp, Dispatch, DGR, Load Control, Customer Service, etc.
    People with no training experience coming from Ground Handling environment may be considered for this role based on their competency with trainers’ required skills.
    Familiar with GCAA rules and regulations pertaining to Ground Handling licensing and working procedures.
    Experienced in planning, designing and delivering training courses to cater business needs.
    Dependable, self-initiative, takes ownership and displays energy and enthusiasm.
    Has very good planning and time management skills even in challenging environments.
    Cost-oriented, possesses effective problem solving and decision making skills.
