Job Description


The Executive Producer is in charge of a segment of Sky News Arabia's programming. 

During your time-slot, you will set the course of our news coverage - the stories we report and the way we report them. 

You will manage a team of producers and work closely with on-air talent, the news desk, creative and studio staff to deliver original and market-leading output. 

Your mission will be to produce news with panache while ensuring Sky News Arabia's editorial guidelines and values are adhered to. 

A member of the News leadership team, you will embrace the full range of content delivery platforms including online and cultivate cross-platform working practices and ideas wherever possible. 


Key Responsibilities

Works closely with the Director of Output playing an active role in the News leadership team, the wider channel strategy and editorial decisions.

Responsibility for a section of Sky News Arabia's programming - either temporal or subject-specific.

Manages a dedicated team of producers and works closely with on-air talent, creative and studio staff to deliver distinctive and original news coverage that fulfills Sky News Arabia's ambitions and mission.

Works with news desk and other output teams to cultivate a collaborative approach to news gathering and delivery across Sky News Arabia.

Ensuring that Sky News Arabia's editorial guidelines and values are adhered to.

Flexible and able to work a shift pattern to fulfill the needs of a 24 hour news organization.

May be required to work with presenters and other journalists on location both in Abu Dhabi, within the region or internationally.

Ability to effectively manage breaking news.

Speed of response in gallery.

Positively cooperates and collaborate with the gallery team during news coverage &breaking news.

Manage effectively team workload and team performance. Key Skills, Experience and Education

Extensive experience in television news at a senior level, including outputting programmes and television news production.

An excellent journalist with strong editorial judgment.

Previous experience in a large national or international broadcast news channel.

Experience of newsroom production systems and desktop editing.

Team management experience.

Experience of or appreciation of the benefits and difficulties of cross-platform working.

Evidence of a broad range of journalistic interests including social affairs, international politics, public policy, world business and economic affairs, Sciences and the Arts.

Fluent in both written and spoken Arabic and English.

Minimum of 10 years’ experience required.

BA in journalism or other related social science major.

Job Announcement Senior Broadcast Designer The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking for an experienced Senior Broadcast Designer to join our Creative Services team. This position location is required for Dubai, UAE. 

The Sr. Broadcast Designer is responsible for collaborating with the creative team on conceptualizing, developing, and executing high quality broadcast design that creates competitive advantage for the network. 

The Incumbent will design and execute graphics solutions for broadcast utilizing various software like VizRT, After effects and 3D max/ Cinema 4D. 

The Sr. Broadcast Designer will create graphic packages, animations, illustrative segments and video wall presentations for News, Current Affairs and digital, in addition to creating templates and template based data driven graphs in VizRT, while maintaining the graphic identity of MBN. 

The Incumbent will work with the creative and editorial teams conceptualizing/brainstorming on project/deliverables based on the Creative Brief or assignment/task, and will sketch ideas and present storyboards and concepts 

The Sr. Broadcast Designer will Keep up to date on latest developments in the field and be involved with design organizations.


 Candidates are required to have:

A degree in Fine Arts, motion graphics, design, multimedia, or equivalent education or experience is sought 3-5 years of experience is required.

Qualified candidates who are bi-lingual in reading, writing and speaking Modern Standard Arabic are preferred.

Applicant must have expert knowledge of VizRT, After Effects, Adobe Creative Suite and Cinema 4D/ 3D Max.

Experience in Virtual sets, augmented reality, and Unreal Engine is a plus.

Individual must conceptualize, design, develop and animate projects ranging from show opens, show packages, promos to news graphics.

Ability to edit in Adobe premiere.

A stellar showreel is a must.


The selected candidate will have a great eye for motion, form and color and will be familiar with both MAC and PC.

Purpose: 

The facilities Technician’s role will be to have technical knowledge of electrical systems, including test inspection, mechanical power equipment, control wiring and fault finding. 

Must have good communication skills to be able to discuss work and progress with customers and relevant managers.


Primary Tasks:

Reporting to the Technical Facilities Manager

Help the Facilities management provider, daily operation and incident reporting.

Work closely with the incumbent FM team and external contractors.

First fix response to FM related breakdowns, repairs, infrastructure and building fabric

Maintain PAT and cable management.

Attend all building repairs and fixing including but not limited to: civil work, electrical, mechanical, decorating, carpentry...

Run frequent fabric check to the facility, report to the TFM any defects and repair.

In charge for all building defects and repairs.

Working on outstanding/pending main project defects following up with main contractor.

Liaise with contractors, implement civil work and follow up.

Maintain the stock levels for essential spare parts and raising requests for replacements,

Diagnose and fix breakdown faults, to maintain an effective maintenance service

Preventing and stopping any unsafe situations, and maintaining a safe and tidy place of work,

Work with the company to meet its legal obligations, and demonstrate health and safety of the staff is of the highest importance,

Help with designing the risk assessment and with the preparation of Safe Operating Procedures and follow all safety procedures,

Act as a role model to ensure health and safety is and stays ‘top of the agenda’

Additional duties when required by facilities management

Supervise and help contractors working on site.

Ensure smooth site operation welfare, and health and safety measures.

Weekly progress report to line manager

Key Essential Skills Required: 


You will have experience of working on site services equipment/amenities and be responsible enough to work on your own for large periods of time.

Proven professional experience in technical projects/design in a similar Television Broadcast environment.

Must have a full knowledge of Autocad (Read & Write).

Proven experience in project management, design, planning, managing and budgeting.

Proven experience in power saving and facilities management

Proven and up to date experience in designing infrastructure of broadcasting studios.

Good and up to date knowledge of Health & safety and Risk assessment procedures.

Excellent communication skills, ability to work under pressure,

High level of organisation, with the ability to multi task and prioritise workload,

Commercially aware and knowledgeable in industry standards, with clear understanding of the stakeholder requirement.

The ability to work on mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems. Broad based engineering skills. Computer literate with PLC experience.

Good standard of spoken and written English.


Experience & Qualification:

At least 7 years’ experience within Media broadcast industry.

Degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent.

Fault finding and maintenance experience of facilities equipment, both electrical and mechanical

Strong understanding of Health and Safety procedures and policies

Arabic Language is an advantage.
