MANAGER - ACCOUNTING, Abu Dhabi
OVERVIEW
Responsible for corporate accounting and financial/statutory reporting of the Company. This position will primarily be responsible for internal controls of the finance and accounting function (general accounting, payable, receivables, payroll, fixed assets, tax and banking) and ensure timely preparation of periodic management and audited financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and government regulations.
Will also be responsible for
1. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financials reports and accounts, including project financial performance reports in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and the Company’s accounting policies and procedures.
2. Ensure timely preparation and distribution of periodic financial reporting requirements to meet finance department reporting deadlines.
3. Ensure accounting records are prepared and maintained in accordance with the Company’s accounting policies and applicable international financial accounting and reporting standards.
4. Review to ensure that all Project related costs and expenses are allocated and categorized correctly.
5. Review entries to project codes and accounts, including in subsidiary modules (projects, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, general ledger accounts etc.) ensure appropriate documentary support for business transactions.
6. Monitor and review accounting and subsidiary systems interfaces to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records and reports.
7. Review all customer invoices for completeness and accuracy in accordance with the approved contractual terms and conditions.
8. Review status of AR collections to support accurate timely reporting of receivables status.
9. Review AP ageing to ensure timely processing of supplier/vendor payments to leverage available credit terms while strengthening company reputation as an on-time payer.
10. Monitor monthly banking transactions including review of monthly bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts.
11. Lead and coach Accounting team to ensure tasks assigned on a daily basis are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
12. Managing and controlling Finance department documents to ensure all records are kept in a safe and easy retrievable manner
13. Review fixed asset schedules and verification reports and manage annual verification exercise in coordination with company departments and projects (if applicable).
14. Review accounting policies, procedures and processes to ensure relevance, continuous improvement and enhanced efficiency.
15. Lead objective setting for direct reports and monitor performance of all direct reports against set targets and identify areas of further development for knowledge and skill enhancement
16. Manage relationship with internal and external auditors to ensure timely completion of audit reviews.
17. Undertake all other ad-hoc tasks and duties as assigned by the VP Finance.
QUALIFICATION
-Completion of a Bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
-Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or (CMA) preferred.
-Membership from a professional financial institution, professional financial qualification.
EXPERIENCE
-Minimum 10 years’ experience in accounting and finance field.
