Location: The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, UAE

JOB DESCRIPTION

Sourcing, attracting, recruiting, interviewing, and on-boarding employees to AKKA/Clients

MISSION & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for full life cycle recruitment (pre-screening, interviews for both internal and external hires within various industries; Defense, Aerospace, Naval, Oil/Gas, Railway, Healthcare, Automotive, IT)
Developing a strong network of talent by building relations with candidates as well as maintaining a candidate database
Negotiation of commercial terms with candidates
Gathering of required documents of new hires to initiate on boarding process (visa, offer letters etc.)
Conduct and schedule phone, live or digital interviews
Prepare and update job descriptions as per roles and requirements
Review applications and confirm basic qualifications, skill set, interest, job fit, salary requirements
Partner with hiring managers and the Talent Acquisition team to develop effective marketplace recruitment strategies
Having an updated knowledge of GCC Labour Laws and immigration policies to ensure Visa Compliance and HR & Recruitment processes run smoothly (not mandatory)

Job Purpose:
To execute, internal and external audits, audit reviews, accident and incident investigations, and surveillance as directed by the “Manager - Quality Assurance”. Follows up on corrective measures in line with Air Arabia quality standards and GCAA/CAA and regulatory bodies’ requirements to ensure compliance with the same across all functions and areas of operation.

Key Result Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the QAS adopted for internal procedures, processes and products audits, surveillance and spot checks for Flight Operations in accordance with Civil Aviation standards and requirements.
  • Assists in formulating, enhancing and monitoring the adherence to QA policies, procedures, processes, and manuals
  • Partners with Stakeholders and “Manager QA” to gather necessary historical data, documentation, and feedback to ensure that all established operations and procedures adopted in the assigned department are satisfactory.
  • Ensures Safety regulations are enforced and followed.
  • Develops, implements and maintains audit schedules, audit standards, and reporting processes in consistence with the quality policy ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and company requirements.
  • Contributes to the preparation and executing of internal annual audit plan; this includes regular audit checks, new checks, as well as urgent audit reviews; carries out assigned audit plan in accordance with approved checklists.
  • Cooperates with the Flight Operations head/managers to communicate and execute the audit schedules timely; maintains effective and on-going communication on updates to ensure successful results.
  • Identifies root causes and assists in formulating and monitoring the adherence to comprehensive corrective actions for regulatory audits;
  • Follows-up on findings or CAPAs in Q-Pulse and with respective departments and parties to ensure closure of findings.


Candidate Profile:

  • Preference will be given to candidate with experience in cockpit.
  • A long term interest in the role will be appreciated.  
  • A balanced personality with focus, analytical thinking, efficiency and commitment to successful results.
  • Proven skills in analysing data, identifying irregularities and recommending corrective measures.
  • Cost-oriented, possesses effective problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • High accuracy and attention to details.
  • Effective team player capable of supporting teams of different functions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Internet and Web Search, Q-Plus is preferred.
  • Excellent command over written and verbal communication skills: reporting, presentations, etc.
  • Good English Language.


Qualifications (Academic, training, languages):

  • Bachelor degree in Aircraft Engineering or a Pilot’s License or equivalent; alternately a diploma or certificate in a related field combined with needed experience and exposure required to fulfil the position requirements.
  • Certificates in Auditing/Quality Assurance/or Compliance such as IOSA or ISO–Lead Assessor are desirable.
  • Project Management certificate or alternately the proven corresponding working experience is nice to have.
  • Professional membership of associations related to the Aviation/Airlines industry or is an advantage.


Work Experience:

  • 3-5 years of related working experience in the aviation/airlines industry in the Flight Operations department in Quality Assurance/Audit or related position.
  • Exposure to the Civil Aviation Authorities and regulatory bodies’ legal requirements, preferably GCAA and/or CAR/JAR-Ops, EASA/FAA.
  • Familiar with regulations pertaining to Licensing, procedures, and manuals.
  • Knowledgeable in ICAO Annexes and ISARPS, and relative exposure to Safety/Internal & External Audit practices.
  • Ability to understand airline and Flight Operations standard regulations.
  • Possesses knowledge in documentation control systems.
  • Familiar with procedures and manuals, regulations and quality standards.

Job Purpose:
To act as the focal point and controller for all operational planned/un-planned activities to be performed in the UAE, Hubs and Outstations on 24/7 basis; ensures the (OTP) on all levels, safety and security of passengers, crew, and aircrafts in accordance with business requirements, GCAA/CAA regulations, and as per Air Arabia policies, procedures, and approved quality standards.

Key Result Responsibilities:
1. Manages the dispatch contractual and operational activities, ensuring all are agreed, implemented and performed as per GCAA/CAA regulations, and as per Air Arabia adopted policies and procedures.

2. Oversees the Dispatch operations, staff, and  external relationships with focus on safety, efficiency and cost-effectiveness in managing operational requirements and human factors considerations

3. Supports in developing, and implementing policies and operating procedures to reduce accidents and mitigate disruption impacts; co-designs and defines the set of standards and measures related to compliance with commercial, quality, as well as regulatory bodies’ agreed standards and procedures.

4. Manages the manpower planning, utilization and allocation in line with business operational needs and in compliance with industry specific regulatory/legislative requirements ensuring Company’s objectives for cost reduction, safety, and security are achieved.

5. Partners with stakeholders to ensure cost-effective flights scheduling and block hours are planned and achieved whilst managing any rotations, cancellations, emergency cases and flights disruptions efficiently depending on given circumstances at a time.

6. Utilizes available data and reports from various sources to analyze the current practices in the related areas and identify options for reducing operating costs and enhancing recovery response plans, also, identify gaps and pitfalls and recommend effective solutions to ensure OTP (On Time Performance).

7. Provides valid technical recommendations on the planning of routes, schedules, and new destinations; oversees the operational requirements for all aerodromes and routes served, and any limitations to aircraft performance recommended by the Operations Controller.

8. Generates a number of function related reports to highlight overall performance such as ETS (Fuel Emission) reports, etc.

9. Monitors the availability and compliance of the Flight Operations documentation with Air Arabia policies and procedures, GCAA/CAA regulatory standards and IOSA SARPs.  Ensures proper implementation of all relevant EFB related processes is timely and accurately achieved.

10. Represents Air Arabia at the regulatory “Emergency Planning Working Committee” meetings, negotiates with authorities for actions required for the continuous development of the Company’s “ERP”

11. Supports the Safety and Security Managers with valid recommendations for improvement to ensure business continuity.

12. Motivates, coaches, and monitors the performance of the team members to achieve high standards in results. Ensures qualifications and competencies are always reviewed in line with GCAA requirements.

13. Partners with HR to set objectives and identify KPIs for the respective team members; ensures his/her subordinates are fully aware and knowledgeable of their targets.  Provides on-going support and supervision to the team members to assist them achieve their goals and bridge any gaps identified.

14. Designs and develops effective staff training solutions ensuring mandatory professional and quality standards are specified and delivered for all hubs.  Ensures all regulatory training requirements for Dispatch staff are met and their records are maintained.

15. Ensures available resources such as manpower, systems, tools, and procedures related to his/her area are properly managed and utilized to achieve optimal error-free productivity and meet current and future Company’s needs.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages):

  • Bachelor degree in Aeronautical/Statistics/Math/Science or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • Possess a valid “Flight Dispatcher Certificate of License” issued form an approved institute or organization, preferably GCAA, the license should be transferrable.
  • Emergency Response Plan related course is a must for this role.
  • Basic Airport, security procedures and regulations training are a must.
  • Professional membership of associations related to the Aviation/Airlines industry is a plus.
  • Project Management certificate or alternately the proven corresponding working experience is a must.
  • Cost Control, Compliance, Budgeting and Quality Assurance certificates and trainings are an added value.
  • Proficient in aircrafts operating systems, Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel), Internet, Web Search
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills, Technical reports writing, presentations, etc.
  • Fluent in English Language.


Work Experience:

  • 15+ years of comprehensive experience in a comparable airlines company in general with a minimum of 10 years in the Operations department;
  • He/she must have spent a minimum of 5 years in a leading role in the dispatch function as Dispatch Manager or Operations Controller; experience with low cost airline is preferred.
  • Hands on Flight planning (Fuel and ACT), Slot/Scheduling Management, Fleet Configuration, Payload capacity, Airport Operation, Emergency Response, etc.
  • Comprehensive exposure on Civil Aviation Authorities and regulatory bodies, preferably GCAA; familiar with regulations of CAR, FAR, JAR, and IOSA pertaining to Flight Operations and working procedures.
  • Exposure to QA/Safety/Security/Audit procedures and practices affecting Flight Operations and dispatch.
  • Experienced in designing, implementing, and monitoring performance of policies, procedures and manuals in line with approved standards and regulations.
  • Hands on managing schedules, rosters, and shift-pattern manpower allocation on a large scale.
  • Experienced in leading teams in a changing environment with heavy work-load schedules and ad-hoc scenarios; commitment to efficiency and successful safe results.
  • Composed, self-confident and focused, capable of handling emergencies and threats with efficiency.
  • Proven skills in analysing data, identifying pitfalls and recommending cost-effective solutions.

Battery Shop Technician, Air Arabia, Sharjah, UAE

Job Purpose:
Carries out and supervises maintenance tasks on Air Arabia and Third Party aircrafts undergoing Line & Base Maintenance Checks, including inspections, repairs and component replacement, and records work up to required standards and in accordance with Air Arabia and regulatory requirements.

Key Result Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence:

  • Constantly verifies and ensures compatibility and readiness of Battery Shop stock as per approved standards and quantity to be used as and when needed.
  • Reviews assigned task cards with the Workshop Supervisor to gain full understanding of the work, priorities, documentation requirements and cautions, prior to starting work.
  • Prepares and performs scheduled Batteries maintenance according to assigned task cards, ensuring feasibility and cost effectiveness; ensures that the required documentation, parts, tools and GSE are obtained and used per issued instructions (wherever applicable).
  • Carries out component Batteries test and inspection tasks to the standard necessary to fully identify and record any defects or damage in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.
  • Performs defect troubleshooting and rectification in accordance with approved data and instructions provided by Engineering Department.
  • Signs off maintenance tasks performed or supervised within the scope of own authorisation, verifying that the task card and associated documents have been completed to the required standard following completion of all maintenance.
  • Manages communications with other Engineers and Technicians related to the assigned tasks, ensuring proper coordination, continuity and handover of work.
  • Manages the coordination with Technical Buyer on component replacements ensuring timeliness and readiness as per adopted procedures.


Safety:

  • Manages the safety of own assigned maintenance tasks, ensuring all published mandatory precautions are taken prior to commencing work and during task execution.
  • Takes positive steps to protect self and other persons in the area of the maintenance activity from any possible injury, including the use of proper GSE and protective equipment.
  • Manages human factors aspects of maintenance, ensuring that the continuity of critical maintenance tasks is protected, by avoidance of task interruption and the proper use of handover procedures.

 

Reputation and Teamwork:

  • Internal Customer Service: provides positive support to other operational teams in ABY, provides proactive and helpful professional advice, suggestions and solutions.
  • Representing Air Arabia:  presents a positive and competent image of technical professionalism to ABY Flight Crews, other companies’ personnel and ABY customers.

 

Cost Awareness:

1. Maintains positive awareness to the cost of component maintenance including use of time and materials.

2. Minimises unnecessary waste of consumable material and part repair cost by avoiding unnecessary damage and repeat work during maintenance.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

  • Holds / has held an Aeronautical diploma or equivalent in applicable engineering and necessary Aircraft Maintenance License and company maintenance approvals on the relevant component of Airbus 320.
  • Ability to obtain an unrestricted GCAA CAR 66 corresponding Category License.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English to a good standard for technical communications.
  • Ability to use computer (Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to obtain UAE Driver’s License.


Work Experience:

  • Extensive working experience in similar role in a workshop.
  • At least 2 years’ experience performing maintenance on the same component, preferably Airbus types.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a Base Maintenance environment.
