Wheel & Brake Technician, Air Arabia, Sharjah, UAE

Job Purpose:
Assists the Engineer to perform Base-level Wheel and Brake maintenance tasks for repairs and component replacement on Air Arabia and Third party aircrafts, performs and records required work accurately and timely in accordance with Air Arabia and regulatory requirements..

Key Result Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence:

Reviews assigned task cards with the Engineer-in-Charge to gain full understanding of the work, priorities, documentation requirements and cautions, prior to starting work.
Assists the Engineer to constantly verify and ensure compatibility and readiness of wheels and brakes stock as per approved standards and quantity to be used as and when needed.
Prepares and performs scheduled component maintenance according to assigned task cards, ensuring that the required documentation, parts, tools and GSE are obtained and used per issued instructions.
Carries out related test and inspection tasks to the standard necessary to fully identify and record any defects or damage in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.
Ensures proper tooling / equipment is ready to perform tasks, returning all of it in good condition following completion of work.

Safety:

Manages the safety of own assigned maintenance tasks, ensuring all published mandatory precautions are taken prior to commencing work and during task execution.
Takes positive steps to protect self and other persons in the area of the maintenance activity from any possible injury, including the use of proper GSE and protective equipment.
Pays attention to human factors aspects of maintenance, ensuring that work interruption procedures are followed and that adequate access and lighting is used for maintenance and inspections.

Internal Customer Service: provides helpful information and support to own team and to other department personnel involved with managing scheduled maintenance checks

1. Maintains positive awareness to the cost of aircraft maintenance including use of time and materials.

2. Minimises unnecessary waste of consumable material and part repair cost by avoiding unnecessary damage and repeat work during maintenance.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)
Qualified and experienced Civil Aircraft Maintenance Technician.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English to a good standard for technical communications.
Ability to use computer (Microsoft Office).
Ability to obtain UAE Driver’s License.

Work Experience:

At least 2 years’ experience performing maintenance on large commercial aircraft, preferably Airbus types.
At least 2 years’ experience in a Base Maintenance environment.
Able to demonstrate solid basic understanding of component maintenance.

AVP - OPS FLIGHT PREPARATION

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Assistant Vice President is responsible for the leading, and managing the flight preparations, Warewash and the airlines bonded and equipment stores departments to deliver best in class operations, whilst adhering to global best practice relating to operational efficiency, safety, hygiene and quality. The jobholder is responsible for the operational, customer, people and financial goals and KPIs set for the specified businesses for which he/she is accountable.

Responsible for defining and implementing operations departments business plans including operations, safety, customer services, people and financial matrix that ensures safe and effective operations.
Manage and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders by pro-actively anticipating their needs and providing services based on agreed SLAs.
Predict and manage potential operational issues, discrepancies and service failures and ensure appropriate action taken to fulfil short term and sustainable long-term improvements.
Lead crisis management team in case of accident or incident at DXB/DWC airport and follow EKFC crisis management protocols to ensure business continuity.
Develop and execute key business and operational process improvements to mitigate risk, ensure safe operations, service recovery and waste reduction that are consistent with EKFC’s long-term objectives.
Prepare and manage annual departmental budget and manpower plans.
Drive and implement future investments in infrastructure, equipment and technology / systems that will ensure optimized business processes, efficiency and business continuity.
The jobholder will play a key role in driving change and transformation with a view to establish a more dynamic approach that sets up the business for future success.

Experience:

A minimum of 10 years working experience in a in-flight catering, logistics/supply chain and/or food manufacturing or operations experience.
An in-depth understanding and working experience with HACCP, GMP, ISO standards and lean Six sigma systems is preferred.
Prior leadership experience in oversight of large teams including experience in transforming business and leading change.

Job Purpose:

Specific Accountabilities:

Develop and implement the sales strategy including policies, sales quotas, and goals to achieve the short and long-term revenue growth strategy within the KSA. Explore and consolidate new business prospects locally and regionally through consolidation.
Negotiate contracts with current and new suppliers and carriers to ensure better deals, with the objective of improved competitive price and increased profit margins. Network with principal airlines that dnata travel represents as GSA's and preferred carriers to minimize dilution of revenues by leveraging on the developed relationships to resolve pending discrepancies and ADMS.
Manage and implement a sales & marketing plan/strategy to achieve the set sales target and increase the credibility of dnata Travel brand in the retail market. Drive tactical promotions and sales blitz that will impact the overall sales and revenue of the outlets. Provide the Managing Director quarterly reports based on market intelligence and customers desire and include the return of investment of the various initiatives.
Maintain effective working relation with the e-commerce team and other business units to drive business synergies and align sales strategies across the different B2Cdistribution channels.
Provide the Managing Director with a comprehensive evaluation of dnata Travel retail outlets profitability against the forecasted budget. Analyze the KPI's to drive performance efficiencies and ensure that the return of investment justifies the overall operations and business continuity. Continuously look at new markets to increase dnata Travel retail footprint and market share.
Coach and mentor the team to help them develop their skills by concentrating on strengths, identifying positive behaviour and encouraging continuous learning. Conduct PM reviews to support the team in keeping track of their development.
Collaboration to drive the brand and liaise with dnata Dubai.

Qualifications:

Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
Bachelor Degree in business, a marketing or leisure/tourism related subject

Knowledge/Skills:

Experience handling the entire process of implementing both existing and new business and the operational role. The ideal candidate should have the experience of having successfully managing a team.

Job Purpose:

Key Result Responsibilities:

1. Leads and manages the administrative and operational areas of Crew Planning and Control ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of tasks in the highest possible standards compliant with all policies, procedures and regulations.

2. 6. Ensures that required reports and other deliverables of Crew Planning and Control are transmitted and adhere to agreed time lines and confidential reporting guidelines.

7. Coordinates with relevant internal and external entities on various matters ensuring that crew members entry requirements in operating to new stations are planned and executed timely and accurately.

8. Leads in conducting annual reviews of the rules and parameters implemented in the crew management system and other systems used by the section; coordinates with IT Department and system providers the required functional changes or bug fixes identified.

9. Acts as a role model in inspirational and motivational leadership; invests in manpower and capitalizes on strengths, drives target scales, objectives and Key Performance Measures (KPIs) for the respective teams.
