Job Description:

Main Objective is to write maintainable code to a high standard in a timely and scalable manner that
improves our products in meaningful ways.

Responsibilities:

● Maintain our existing web apps and websites.
● Create and develop new features as required by the business on the frontend.
● Work in a multidisciplinary team with other professionals such as backend developers, QAs, etc.
● Design responsive web pages.
● Design email templates that work across all platforms.
● Make suggestions for better solutions to problems.
● Keep abreast of latest and emerging technologies.
● Ability to give estimates on work required.
● Work within an Agile workflow to organize tasks and collaborate with other team members
(JIRA).

Requirements:

● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
● 2 years proven experience in Frontend development.
● Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, AngularJS.
● Experience with jQuery is a plus.
● Experience with server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SAAS is a plus.
● Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
● Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
● Proficient understanding and experience with Docker

Job Summary
To carry out general and aviation security duties related to surveillance, guarding, escort and screening for Emirates Group in order to protect staff, property and the business against acts of unlawful interference.

Generic
Perform aviation security functions including guarding, access control, search, inspection, surveillance screening and escort of aircraft, cargo, catering products of both airside and landside facilities e.g.cargo warehouse, engineering hangars etc.
Record and report any suspicious activities (security breaches etc.) to the line to ensure that appropriate action can be taken where required.
Guide the security staff from the security service provider (Transguard Patrol) in the execution of day-to-day general and aviation security functions specific to the area(s) of deployment.
In cases of emergency, function as a fire warden.Participate in Quality Control Circle activities e.g. projects to enhance processes, improve productivity etc.

Cargo and Aircraft Protection Unit (CAPU)
Function as the first line of defence for the protection of the transportation of product against acts of unlawful interference e.g. dangerous goods.
Protect cargo in relation to vulnerable cargo, valuable cargo, arms and ammunition.
Protect the aircraft by undertaking aircraft search, guarding inspection and access control activities.
Undertake passenger protection activities including liquids and gels (LAGs) security checks,secondary boarding gate passenger checks and baggage checks.
Protect/guard lost items (e.g. baggage) and coordinate the process of restoring these items to the rightful owner.

Flight Catering
Perform x-ray screening functions including the search of carts as well as the access control of people,belongings and vehicles.
Ensure the integrity of carts and vehicles inspected by applying the approved sealing regime.
Facilities & Accommodation
Monitor authorised visitors, arrivals and departures and maintain records (e.g. log books) on a daily basis.
Respond to fire alarms and implement emergency procedures where necessary.
Provide access and supervise the landlords’ maintenance staff when carrying out maintenance work

Transguard
Inspect Transguard vehicles prior to carrying any valuables to ensure that all components are in working order so as to prevent any breakdowns, ensure that the vehicles conform to the safety and VIT regulations.
Guard all consignments ensuring that all standard operating procedures are followed.
Ensure compliance to all airside and landside driving rules and regulations.
Maintain an accurate log of movements and consignment details in order to ensure compliance with

Insurance and VIT procedures.
Ensure that the relevant details in regards to log In & Out of Valuables to/from the Vault and documents are kept up to date.
Security.

Knowledge of airline handling procedures and implementation of security measures (e.g. access control, security search etc.) would be advantageous.

The Security Officer ensures a safe environment for the colleagues and guests and protect the assets of the hotel.

Hotel Overview:

Fairmont The Palm is a luxury, world-class resort located on the iconic Palm Jumeirah Island in Dubai. The hotel features 391 guest rooms and suites with dedicated Fairmont Gold rooms and lounge. A total of 11 food and beverage outlets on property offer international dining options including Little Miss India, Frevo - Brazilian Churrasco experience, Seagrill Bistro, Ba Restaurant and Lounge, Blowfish, Flow Kitchen, The Cigar Room, Vuvuzela and others. Fairmont The Palm also features an expansive pool and beach area with a health club, Willow Stream Spa and the Fairmont Falcons Kids’ Club.


MAIN DUTIES

Summary of Daily Tasks & Responsibilities:

To establish chain of command and responsibility, the Security Officer shall be held directly responsible to the Shift Duty Security Supervisor, Senior Security Supervisor.
Perform duties according to the Duty Roster prepared by the Director of Security or in his absence, the Senior Security Supervisor.
The Security Officer may be deployed at any of the following Duty Posts as enumerated thereafter:
Security Control Room Duty
Lobby Duty
Loading Bay
Patrolling or Observation Duty
Back of House
Parking
Or at any position where operations in Security field will benefit.
When on duty, the Security Officer shall adopt the “Service Oriented” approach in discharging of its duties in order to functions harmoniously with the concept of the Hotel as a place of hospitality
To exercise flexibility to maintain a balance between effectiveness and unconstructiveness;
To promote the “gentlemen” rather the “officer” image for the security service;
To act for and on behalf of the Hotelkeeper on security matters;
To protect the safety of guests, staff, their properties and those belonging to the Hotel;
To act as a host of the hotel by personally welcoming arriving guests and bidding farewell to departing guests
To greet guests and offer assistance;
To lead guests whenever possible if they are uncertain of the location within the Hotel premises;
To inform and sell other hotel facilities to all visitors of the Hotel.
Protect the hotel guests and keep the peace by
Monitoring any undesirable elements to ensure that they do not harass, harm or embarrass the hotel guests;
Take appropriate action to defuse any outbreak of violence or commotion within the Hotel premises;
Intelligence gathering, from within and without the hotel of the identities and activities (modus operandi) of undesirable elements.
Surveillance of hotel staff
Ensuring that they abide by the House Rules;
Keeping tag on movements of staff who are classified as suspects under investigations.

Physical Aspects of the Position (include but not limited to):

For Operational Roles, frequent standing and walking throughout the shift are expected, as well as occasional kneeling; pushing; pulling; ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps; occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
For Office roles, sitting for extended hours in a row can be harmful and lead to postural problems. Office workers are advised to get up and move regularly to prevent such problems.
Job qualifications:

Good communication skills both verbal and written.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Understanding and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Secondary school education
Security Guard SIRA certificate is required.

Description

The Opportunity:

The Government Communications Department is looking for an incumbent for the position of Media Design and Production Manager, to lead all aspects of video editing and graphic activities to ensure highly efficient, service oriented delivery of the department practices.  Key areas includes: Coordinates all aspects of the production process for promotional videos, and assists the Graphic Artist and Web Editor in the development of graphics and multimedia promotional materials for the University. Provides design concepts, story boards artwork and technical oversight for the production of all multimedia publications.

The Responsibilities:

Manages effectively the day to day activities of the department staff.  University faculty and any outside contractors, vendors or freelancers employed to assist with publication activities.
Creates and maintains and manages a high quality, unified visual identity that permeates Zayed University’s visual image.
Identifies, complement and builds on the existing unified visual identity that permeates the University’s print and Web publications.
Monitors workflow of projects relating to timelines of projects with staff, camera crews, stock footage library’s, News archives broadcast news stations Audio recording studios and other vendors.
Designs and develops accurate multimedia DVD’s that result in availability of on brand and timely information to target audiences.
Manages the entire process of video production, working with the Director of Publications and the video client to determine content and scripting, and with filming and production vendors as required
Selects, edits and mix analog and digital video footage for promotional videos
Prepares video graphics, animation and special effects for use in university promotional videos and other multimedia projects
Works closely with individual University departments, colleges and units to assist in design and production of promotional videos as needed
Assures quality control of the video or multimedia project, overseeing sound mixing, final production, and every aspect of the process
Compiles and maintains a library of new stock video footage from which selected clips can be chosen and edited for individual videos
Coordinates closely with the Media Services Technician to provide video footage through original filming or access to university video archives
Directly films digital video footage as required
Manages and coordinates video filming with external production company when required
Provides some graphics assistance for print publications
Assists in the development of promotional CD-ROMs and DVDs
Maintains an adequate supply of still photo images for use in University publications, either by arranging photo shoots or by providing high definition digital photos from digital video footage
Identifies commercially available stock video footage and recommends purchase when appropriate
Manages contracts and all dealings with vendors associated with the publication dept from quotations to bids to purchase orders and delivery.
Manages projects in a collaborative environment with writers, artists, designers, IT specialists and printers, and develops an atmosphere of effective and efficient teamwork.

The Requirements:

Should possess a Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field with emphasis in video filmmaking, editing and graphics with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in video production or a related field. And a or an equivalent combination of education or experience.

Other essential requirements:

Highly computer literate, with strong knowledge of PC and Macintosh operating systems
Professional experience with industry standard video editing, animation and graphics design software
Experience producing an entire film, including shooting footage, recording music and dialogue, controlling lighting, providing graphics and special effects, and editing the results.
Experience in planning, producing, and managing video and multimedia projects, creating videos for delivery via hard drive, DVD, CD, PowerPoint, Web, PAL format, etc.
Good command of English.
