We are currently seeking a Well Services Engineer, to start Q4 2013, Location: Abu Dhabi (Office based) Status: Residential Status. The position will be permanent.
Scope of work:
Advise on well inspection techniques that will contribute to understanding the issues
Analyze available data, inspection and integrity reports and identify experienced and predicted failure modes and effects. Carry out initial well criticality classification and Risk Rank wells based on structural and annulus pressure issues.
Identify further inspection requirements to serve further remedial and analytical work and classification of well integrity status
Recommend immediate actions as required to secure all Risk Rank 1 (RR1) wells. Immediate actions are those which will have to be executed before completion of the full engineering assessment and strategic decision about individual wells
Recommend remedial actions to repair / abandon RR1 wells based on remnant life expectancy of the well.
Recommend remedial solutions and options towards enhancing the integrity status/useful life span of existing wells suffering integrity degradation (RR2 wells).
Skills and Experience required
Senior Drilling Engineer
University Degreed
Minimum 15 years experience in Drilling Engineering and Operations roles, including jack-up operations over towers
Thorough understanding of well design principles, notably structural and corrosion issues
Thorough understanding of wellhead design for jack-up operations
Thorough understanding of barriers within wells and familiar with the ‘two barrier’ policy as operated by many major companies
Experience in dealing with and solving well integrity issues
Familiar with cement evaluation, corrosion and temperature logs
Current valid well control certificate
Ability to communicate clearly and work in multi-cultural teams
Proven track record in delivery against objectives
