Job Description

We are looking for a seasoned communication professional in MEA. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to lead the design, development and execution of integrated communication strategy across multiple countries in MEA where we operate in 11 countries.

Your role overview:

• Leads, develops and executes internal communications strategy; provides a clear roadmap for consistently communicating with employees, so they will feel informed about strategic priorities, work environment, best practices and specific initiatives
• Defines what internal communications strategies are important to focus on, how and when they’ll be implemented across countries/region and how they’ll be measured to demonstrate value and impact to the business
• Interacts with internal stakeholders to proactively get insight and counsel on business/organization specific communication needs
• Leads, develops and executes comprehensive external communications and advocacy strategy for Amgen in the MEA region in alignment with global strategy that helps to build Amgen’s reputation and position the company as partner of choice in the region. Builds and maintains an effective working relationship with key communications agencies
• Collaborates with internal stakeholders to regularly identify and prioritize business needs in terms of awareness campaigns, therapeutic area special events and employer branding activities. Works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that all content (print, email, website, intranet, social media) and promotions are consistent with Amgen´s brand and narrative
• Support MEA leadership team on external engagement/thought leadership opportunities and pull through across different channels
• Support priority MEA policy initiatives through communications
• Teams up with internal stakeholders to oversee Amgen´s employer brand recognition and reputation; understands the company´s image and its value proposition; and acts to improve employee and customer experience continuously; establishes accountability for results with metrics, measures and monitoring; work social media effectively; and passionately lives up to their brand promise every day
• Oversees the planning and execution of communications in special situations to minimize negative effects and build reputation as a responsible corporation. Works with global Corporate Communications to provide communications counseling for issues/crisis management
• Develop a community engagement strategy that delivers clear benefit to Amgen and supports local communities in meaningful ways; develop programs to deliver the strategy

Qualifications and required experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of eight years of Communication or PR experience, ideally gained in biotechnology or pharmaceutical company
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative team player with good cross-cultural adaptability
• Takes initiative and acts pro-actively, enthusiastically and creatively
• Demonstrated ability to organize and execute plans against objectives in a semi-autonomous environment while also working effectively in a cross-functional team
• Operational excellence: management skills, planning, prioritization, decision making, objective setting, meeting management and plan execution
• Ability to manage and align disparate cross functional/country resources
• Compliance and legal parameters for working with patients and external stakeholders

Logistics Traffic Specialist - Jeddah

The Logistics Traffic Specialist will be responsible to ensure seamless, compliant and efficient transportation of goods to and within Saudi Arabia aligning with the company’s supply chain goals and objectives. Dedicated to optimizing local distribution, maintaining high service levels, and rigorously monitoring the performance of our service providers through (KPIs). This position will play a pivotal role in implementing transportation strategy in Saudi Arabia and ensuring sustained success and growth of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage end-to-end transport solutions to support the supply chain goals and objectives within the country.
• Ensure timely pre-alerts for shipments into Saudi Arabia while obtaining the necessary approvals (DOC , GHAD, FAZZA, SFDA ect .. ) for on time clearance and delivery. Monitor any delays in deliveries from the originating sites and escalate as necessary.
• Oversee all returns to the Distribution Center in conjunction with the returns process, ensuring proper handling and processing of cargo from dock.
• Monitor all dock shipments for potential rejections or new scheduling needs, ensuring inventory on dock are consistently minimum.
• Partner with operations teams and customer service to meet daily delivery expectations in accordance with priorities and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Ensure that the daily tracker and reports are updated in a timely manner.
• Manage the ASN team and other related transport teams, monitor performance & ensure that approved delivery dates are in line with expected revenue recognition requirements.
• Responsible for Reviewing and managing service agreements and KPIs with transport providers, freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers; including holding them accountable for their performance and KPI’s .
• Ensure all relevant delivery documents are available in the repository prior to the shipment delivery/departure date.
• Guarantee timely collection of all PODs, their storage in the repository, and submission to finance for revenue recognition.
• Hold vendors to Boston Scientific standards and quality policies when handling/delivering shipments; issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) when deviation occurs.
• Track all transport-related damages, register claims, and monitor their resolution.
• Oversee the transport budget within the country and adhere to the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) set; verify supplier invoices for services rendered.
• Ensure that all business transactions and documentation are executed in compliance with all applicable customs and governmental regulations and procedures.

• Requires Knowledge of Saudi regulations associated with medical device deliveries and Nupco deliveries .
• Sets the best practices and functional/technical direction for the job function.
• Has knowledge of the industry/ business environment/ sector in which BSC operates and applies that knowledge to create a competitive advantage and drive financial and operational performance for assigned area/sub-function
• Applies business expertise to anticipate and react to function/sector/industry developments and identify opportunities for BSC growth and/or design programs to support that growth
• Leads an area within a sub-function
• Contributes to the establishment of global and BSC-wide standards, policies and practices
• Directs the resolution of highly complex problems looking beyond existing methodologies to define and resolve complex problems
• Facilitates and leads others in the development of new or innovative solutions for an area within a sub-function, or in some cases for a function
• Evaluates key functional/technical challenges and recommends solutions to leaders
• Impacts directly on achievement of operational, financial, and/or innovation objectives, performance and results for a significant part of a sub-function
• Impacts and contributes to the development of sub-functional strategy (short term and long term) and exercises control over a sizeable portion of the sub-function's resources
• Guides by using sub-functional business plans, impacts the area results by supporting and funding of projects, products, services and / or technologies
• Interacts, negotiates with and influences opinions of decision makers, internally across all levels and externally, concerning matters of significance to a sub-function
• Interacts with key stakeholders on critical matters, changing the thinking of others on broad and complex issues
