Public Relations Manager

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Public Relations Manager to join our team! In this role, you will coordinate between internal and external stakeholders for a specific project, ensuring effective communication and managing public relations efforts to maintain a positive image of the project.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Overseeing and coordinating all public relations activities related to the construction project, ensuring clear communication between internal teams, the public, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Developing and implementing strategic communication plans, including public outreach, media relations, and community engagement initiatives.
• Managing media inquiries and securing positive media coverage to highlight key project milestones and benefits to the local community.
• Handling and resolving public complaints, feedback, and conflicts regarding construction disruptions, ensuring timely and professional responses.
• Maintaining an open line of communication with residents, municipalities, government departments (such as MOI), traffic police, embassies, and other relevant entities, addressing public concerns and providing updates related to the project.
• Organizing public engagement activities, such as community meetings, public forums, and site tours, to inform local residents about project developments and any potential disruptions.
• Liaising with technical staff and project teams to ensure accurate and timely communication of project details and updates to the public.
• Overseeing the translation of documents, emails, and project communications, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and the preservation of the original meaning, especially when dealing with non-English-speaking stakeholders.
• Managing internal and external correspondence, maintaining project documentation related to public relations activities.
• Monitoring public sentiment regarding the project and advising senior management on strategies to enhance public perception.
• Developing crisis communication plans and handling media relations during project delays, issues, or emergencies, ensuring a clear and consistent message is conveyed.
• Coordinating with construction supervision teams to minimize public inconvenience and ensure smooth operations during construction.
• Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, such as local communities, government authorities, and other influential groups.
• Reporting on public relations activities, including media coverage, community feedback, and effectiveness of communication efforts.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media Studies, English, or a related field.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in public relations, with at least 5 years focused on managing communications for large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Proven expertise in media relations, including writing press releases, handling media inquiries, and securing media coverage.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic, both written and spoken, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in community engagement and managing public relations activities for construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong crisis communication skills, with the ability to address sensitive issues and respond to public concerns effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and communications simultaneously, especially when handling complaints or sensitive issues.
• Experience working in Qatar, with a strong understanding of local culture, regulations, and public relations practices in the region.
• Leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team and collaborate effectively across departments.

• Experience working in the construction industry, with a focus on public relations, community outreach, and project communication.
• Familiarity with project management tools and design software to assist in preparing presentations, reports, and public communications.

• Cultural sensitivity and understanding of Qatari local customs, government processes, and public expectations.
• Experience in developing and executing comprehensive PR strategies tailored for construction projects in urban settings.

The Head of Government Relations Middle East and Africa is part of the International GR team and aims at supporting PayPal’s business objectives through the development and implementation of a Government Relations strategy for the Middle East and Africa.

Our team is instrumental for the business to navigate with confidence a very dynamic public policy and political environment. We engage early and transparently with a diverse network of external stakeholders and advise our colleagues about the potential impact on the business of policy and political changes in our ecosystem.

Job Description:

Your way to impact –

The Head of Government Relations, Middle East and Africa will develop and implement a Government Relations strategy to support PayPal’s business objectives in the region. This includes identifying key policy priorities, crafting public policy positions, and proactively engaging with stakeholders influencing the regulatory landscape. The role will focus on critical jurisdictions and organizations impacting PayPal’s public policy agenda, covering areas such as payments, financial crime, digital, crypto, trade, and financial inclusion. Additionally, they will communicate policy trends and regulatory developments to internal stakeholders while collaborating closely with PayPal’s Global Government Relations and regional Global Markets teams.

Your day to day –

·  Monitor & Advise: Identify emerging public policy risks, opportunities, and regulatory issues in the Middle East and Africa, assessing their business impact and recommending solutions.

·  Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and execute external engagement plans, build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, and serve as the GR reference for the region.

·  Advocacy & Thought Leadership: Create position papers, briefings, and consultation responses to establish PayPal’s public policy leadership in the Middle East and Africa.

·  Industry & Government Relations: Represent PayPal in meetings with government officials, industry events, and trade associations to enhance advocacy efforts.

·  Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with Global Markets and GR leaders to align policy strategies, support e-government initiatives, and contribute to long-term planning.

About the role:

The Content Writer is a crucial role at Liquidity for a versatile and talented wordsmith with a strong understanding of the financial services sector. You have a knack for translating complex financial concepts into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences across various platforms. Your writing is engaging, persuasive, and effectively communicates our value proposition while enhancing our brand voice.

Based in our Abu Dhabi office and collaborating closely with the marketing and regional teams across Liquidity, you'll play a vital role in shaping how we present ourselves to clients, partners, and the wider financial community across all our markets. Your expertise spans both long-form content creation and concise marketing copy, allowing you to craft impactful messages across all touchpoints.

Responsibilities

    Write and edit a wide range of content, including blog posts, website copy, newsletters, social media updates, internal communications, and talking points
    Craft compelling marketing copy for various channels, including email campaigns, landing pages, and promotional materials
    Create engaging narratives around our key offerings, translating complex financial topics into accessible content with a storytelling approach
    Develop thought leadership pieces, including whitepapers, blog posts, and articles
    Produce content for sales enablement materials, including pitch decks and presentations
    Write internal communications to keep employees informed and engaged
    Adapt content for different regional markets, ensuring cultural relevance and sensitivity
    Collaborate with the Marketing team to align content with overall marketing strategy and campaigns
    Ensure all written materials align with the firm's brand voice, values, and messaging while maintaining a professional and engaging tone across all content types
    Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to inform content creation
    Review and edit content to ensure it is clear, accurate, and free of errors, maintaining high-quality standards
    Optimize content for search engines and implement SEO best practices


Requirements:

    5+ years of content writing and copywriting experience, preferably in the financial services or B2B sector
    Strong portfolio demonstrating ability to write clear, compelling content and marketing copy for various formats and platforms
    Excellent grasp of English language, grammar, and style
    Understanding of financial services industry and ability to write about complex financial topics
    Strong research skills and ability to quickly grasp and communicate new concepts
    Ability to adapt writing style to different audiences and formats, from long-form articles to concise marketing messages
    Experience in crafting marketing copy for newsletters, websites, and promotional campaigns
    Excellent time management skills with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
    Team player with strong collaboration skills
    Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
    Experience writing for fintech or investment firms-an advantage
    Crafting diverse content types from long-form thought leadership articles andwhitepapers to concise social media posts, email campaigns, and website copy-an advantage
    Familiarity with SEO best practices and ability to optimize content for search engines-an advantage
