Yas School is currently seeking to recruit a high-performing Lead Teacher - Mathematics to join our team in August 2025.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a flagship government school in Abu Dhabi with the mission of blending Emirati cultural values with modern global standards to create an exceptional educational experience for our students. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about upholding our school’s values while embracing the rich culture and heritage of the UAE. At Yas School, we deliver the Ministry of Education (MOE) curriculum and have a special focus on inclusive education, enrichment and preparing future ready learners. Founded in 2015, we are the largest single-campus K-12 government school educating 1750+ girls and boys on our extensive campus.
We are seeking a proven practitioner, with expertise in UK or US curricula, and ideally experience with the UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) curriculum.
As a Lead Teacher - Mathematics, you will be responsible for delivering whole-school and cycle specific initiatives relating to instructional leadership, curriculum development, monitoring and assessment, professional development, communication and integration of technology targeted to improve students’ achievements in Mathematics. You will also oversee a team of Numeracy Coaches providing targeted support for teachers and supporting the delivery of students’ intervention programs.
The successful candidate should:
• Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Post Graduate Diploma in Education in the relevant subject area
• Master’s Degree in Education/Educational Leadership or a related field is an advantage
• Be proficient in English (demonstrated by a minimum IELTS score of 6 or equivalent)
• Bilingual skills (English & Arabic) are highly desirable
• Hold a UAE Certified Teaching License/ equivalent, or working towards attainment
• Have 4+ years of classroom teaching experience
• Have 2+ years of experience in an academic middle leadership role
• Have proven experience in formal or informal leadership focused on improving student achievement
