Senior Network Administrator, Dar Al Shifa Hospital, Kuwait

We need a Senior Network Administrator,

Purpose and Scope of the Job

Under direct supervision, responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance and support of the Hospital’s network server hardware, network infrastructure, and network operating systems. Responsibilities also include installation and configuration of network-based software applications. Support, maintain and optimize of network services, devices, and communications systems. He will be responsible to provide support, respond to queries, document changes, and assist with testing, assessment, diagnosis and resolution of network service outages and incidents.

Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards

• Installing and configuring Cisco Switches.
• Managing & maintaining Wireless network.
• Managing & maintaining IP telephony system.
• Managing & maintaining routing.
• Managing & maintaining internet and other connections.
• Investigating, analyzing, and resolving network incidents and problems.
• Monitoring and management of network performance.
• Engaging in projects to provide network related input.
• Checking logs of router and switches for troubleshooting network issues.
• Proactively managing the Network via network monitoring and management tools, to prevent any network issues from causing outages to the production operation.
• Create documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and/or service records.
• Establish and maintain adequate backup and recovery for all network devices.
• Develop and maintain adequate technical documentation on configurations, installations, network diagrams, backup/recovery, standards, and other related information.
• Conduct performance monitoring and tuning on the network.
• Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.
• Provides and promotes people centered care.
• Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.

Qualifications, Competences and Skills

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent. CCNA Certification

Experience: 3 to 5 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Licensure: Not Applicable

Language: Proficiency in Arabic and English Languages

Computer Proficiency: Excellent computer skills.

Performance Competencies:

• Understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching and related protocols, network environments and topologies.
• Display a thorough understanding of networking protocols.
• Ability to acquire skills and develop quickly is essential.
• Ability to cope under pressure and priorities work accordingly is essential.
• Be articulate, clearly spoken, and able to deliver telephone support in a friendly & professional manner.
• Be a team player, ability to work both within a team and individually.
• Knowledge of System utility programs, user applications.
• Current operating systems functions and systems software.
• Data processing operations in a large scale, multi-site environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems.
• Self-motivation & ability to learn
• Use discretion in handling confidential data.

• IT Staff
• Hospital Staff

• Preferred candidates available with valid transferable visa in Kuwait.
