Job Responsibilities:
• Promote a culture of zero harm within the business and our projects.
• Provide geotechnical engineering knowledge on projects and pursuits, including geological site reconnaissance.
• Field work including supervision and management of geotechnical ground investigations.
• This will include managing cub-contractors, logging of soil and rock to GCC and EU standards and producing interpretative reports.
• Deliver quality technical reports and submissions.
• Support Geoscience leads in the pursuit of new business by contributing towards cost estimates and schedules.
• Shadow Geoscience team leads by following corporate, safety, sustainability, quality, business development, engineering, procedures and processes.
• Support growth of the Geoscience Service Line by contributing towards our ever expanding workload.
• Attend and participate in client meetings, and deliver client and industry facing project presentations.
• Work as part of an integrated delivery team, comprising other engineering disciplines, professional environmental scientists.
• Support the development and implementation of geoscience strategies that are consistent with the divisional and regional Geoscience Service Line plans.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology from an accredited institution, including a strong commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).
Experience:
• Decent experience practicing geotechnical engineering, ranging from site supervision of ground investigations.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplined teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter, willing and able to work on a wide variety of tasks.
• Be able to write clear, logical and concise technical reports.
• Demonstrate logical and independent thinking.
• Geotechnical design in accordance with AASHTO LRFD and Eurocodes.
• Strong ability to present, analyze and interpret factual data to a very high standard.
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Be willing to travel and spend periods of time away on field-based projects across the GCC and internationally.
• Hands on experience with Openground, Leapfrog and Autodesk Civil 3D software.
