Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resident Engineer - Bridges to join our team in Manama, Bahrain. In this critical role, you will oversee the construction and maintenance of complex bridge projects, with a focus on marine and cable-stayed structures. As the on-site representative of our engineering team, you will ensure that all project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations are met.
- Manage day-to-day operations of bridge construction projects, including marine and cable-stayed structures
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met
- Review and approve construction methodologies, materials, and equipment
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks
- Analyze and resolve technical issues that arise during construction
- Prepare detailed progress reports and maintain project documentation
- Ensure compliance with local construction codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards
- Collaborate with the design team to implement any necessary modifications or improvements
- Monitor project budgets and schedules, recommending adjustments as needed
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site staff
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred
- Minimum of 15 year of experience in bridge engineering and construction, with a focus on marine or cable-stayed projects
- Minimum of 5 years experience on cable stayed bridges/Marine bridges.
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and construction management practices
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- Experience with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent project management skills, including budget and schedule control
- In-depth understanding of construction codes and regulations in Bahrain
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
- Willingness to work on-site and travel as required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
