We need a Curriculum Coordinator,

Contract Length: 2 years

Eligible Candidates:

• Licensed Teacher

School Requirements:

• Education Required: Bachelor
• Minimum Teaching Experience: 2 years of teaching experience
• Major: Curriculum and Instruction, Education
• Required Certificates:
  Teaching Credential/License

Additional School Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Education
• Must be eligible to apply and meet the requirements for a British Columbia Teaching Certificate (Applications from Canadian provinces welcome)
• Have a British Columbia teaching certificate or A teaching certificate from another Canadian province or Have a teaching certificate from a foreign English-speaking jurisdiction and meets the requirements of the British Columbia Teachers Regulation Branch (5-year undergraduate degree taken in English and a teaching certificate)
• Energetic, creative, and have the fortitude to meet the challenges of a quickly growing school
• Understand a personalized approach to learning and assessment
• Have training or understanding of the inquiry approach to teaching and learning
• Well-versed in classroom teaching with integrated learning methods (as opposed to subject teaching)
• Well versed in 21st-century teaching and learning

Job Description:

The Canadian School Bahrain is a not-for-profit, private international school offering the British Columbia, Canada curriculum.

The Canadian School Bahrain will implement a whole-child approach to learning that will enhance each student's academic, Social, Physical, Emotional, and educational needs.

British Columbia Columbia-certified teachers working with Bahraini Bahraini-certified teachers for Social Studies and Citizenship, Moral Studies, and Arabic Language will teach this integrated educational program.

The core competencies are the intellectual, personal, and social skills that all students need to develop for success in life beyond school. B.C. has identified three core competencies as essential for all learners:

We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Curriculum Coordinator in our school.

A curriculum coordinator plays a crucial role in the educational process, ensuring that curricula are implemented effectively and aligned with academic standards and educational goals. Their responsibilities include the following:

Curriculum Planning and Development:

• Reviewing and analyzing curricula to ensure they meet current educational standards.
• Suggesting improvements or modifications based on students’ needs and recent educational advancements.
• Collaborating with teachers and administration to develop effective teaching plans.

Supporting Teachers and Professional Development:

• Conducting workshops and training sessions to enhance teachers’ instructional strategies and student assessment methods.
• Providing teaching resources and supplementary materials to support lesson delivery.
• Assisting teachers in implementing innovative strategies in the classroom.

Monitoring Curriculum Implementation:

• Overseeing the application of curricula in classrooms to ensure alignment with educational goals.
• Conducting classroom observations to evaluate teaching quality and provide constructive feedback.
• Tracking student progress and analyzing results to identify strengths and weaknesses in the curriculum.

Coordinating Between Educational Departments:

• Acting as a bridge between teachers, school administration, and sometimes external educational bodies.
• Assisting in preparing reports on curriculum effectiveness and student performance for school leaders or educational authorities.
• Contributing to school-wide academic improvement plans.

Integrating Technology into Education:

• Promoting the use of technology to enhance the learning experience.
• Researching and implementing educational software and tools that improve student engagement and learning outcomes.

Developing Assessment Strategies:

• Designing and refining evaluation tools to measure student performance and learning outcomes.
• Analyzing assessment data to make informed decisions about curriculum development.
