Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Resident Engineer - Structures specializing in Cable Stay Bridges to join our team in Manama, Bahrain. In this role, you will play a crucial part in overseeing the construction and maintenance of cable-stayed bridges, ensuring structural integrity and project success.
- Assist the Resident Engineer in daily supervision of cable-stayed bridge construction activities
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards
- Review and analyze technical drawings, specifications, and other project documents
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues
- Prepare detailed technical reports on construction progress, quality control, and structural integrity
- Monitor project schedules and budgets, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and environmental standards throughout the construction process
- Collaborate with the design team to address any field-related design modifications
- Participate in project meetings and provide regular updates to senior management
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians on cable-stayed bridge construction techniques
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on cable-stayed bridges
- Relevant experience in supervising cable stay bridges, marine bridges and grade separated junctions.
- Proven experience in construction site supervision
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and cable-stayed bridge design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- Familiarity with project management tools and techniques
- Excellent technical report writing and problem-solving skills
- In-depth understanding of cable-stayed bridge construction techniques and structural integrity assessment
- Experience with quality control processes in bridge construction
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams
- Willingness to work on-site in Manama, Bahrain, and travel as required
