The Vice-Principal for Innovation, Technology, and Research will lead the school’s digital strategy, advancing pedagogical innovation, staff digital literacy, emerging technologies, and personalized learning for all students, including Students of Determination and Gifted learners. Key responsibilities include driving the research agenda, fostering academic excellence, inclusivity, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Lead the integration of AI, machine learning, and digital tools to enhance curriculum design, personalized learning, and student outcomes.
Pilot cutting-edge technologies, explore hybrid/virtual learning opportunities, and stay updated on emerging education technologies.
Develop inclusive strategies to support Students of Determination and Gifted learners.
Leverage AI-driven tools for targeted interventions and collaborate with wellbeing teams to enhance student mental and physical health.
Implement technology and AI tools to support skill development and creative expression in sports, arts, and performing arts.
Develop eSports and game design programs, integrating a specialist computer science curriculum.
Partner with industry experts to prepare students for careers in digital technology and entertainment.
Oversee the school’s research program, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and mentoring students on real-world challenges.
Build partnerships with global organizations and universities, ensuring high-quality research and publication opportunities.
Enhance stakeholder engagement through digital platforms and real-time updates, fostering transparent communication.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align technological initiatives with educational goals, gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
Lead a team of technology and communication experts, ensuring secure, user-friendly data systems.
Implement data privacy measures, enhance infrastructure, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
Uphold school policies, safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards.
Participate in staff development, appraisals, and handle GDPR-compliant data management.
Skills
Person Specifications:
Hold a BEd or Bachelors degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent
Hold a Master’s degree in Information Technology, Educational Technology, or related field (essential)
Certifications in emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science (desirable). Online certifications/courses accepted e.g. Google, Microsoft, Coursera, etc. Education related is desirable.
In-depth knowledge of global trends, emerging technologies, educational technologies and their application to K-12 settings.
Demonstrated experience in integrating technology into educational settings to enhance stakeholder communication and data accessibility
Proven track record in managing complex IT projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder needs.
Strong understanding of data management systems, digital communication platforms, and information security protocols
Experience in fostering collaborative partnerships with parents, faculty, and administrators to improve educational outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of advancements in educational technology and stakeholder engagement strategies.
