Summary of the role: The Relationship Manager & Financial Analyst will be an integral part of the Waystone team and will play a pivotal role in proactively managing and supporting their clients and funds from a commercial and governance perspective as well as representing Waystone at external events. As a relationship manager and financial analyst focused on fund distribution and investment management, primary responsibilities would include; analysing market trends, evaluating investment opportunities, and working with the Investment Manager to provide recommendations on asset allocation if required.

 

Collaborate with the Promotions Manager, our investment manager clients and other financial professionals to optimise fund distribution strategies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of financial markets are essential for success in this role.

 

To achieve this, you will need to be able to analyse financial data, support the preferred fund distribution strategies of our clients, and assist the Fund Investment Manager in investment management decisions. Strong quantitative skills, a solid understanding of financial markets, and the ability to communicate insights effectively are needed.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Launch and ongoing management of client relationships and ongoing governance of funds with Investment Managers, distributors and across the different service providers, including the Fund Administrator, Custodian, Auditors and Legal Advisors.
    Identification and management of the relationship to ensure they remain operationally efficient and financially profitable. Includes ongoing interaction with internal teams, and external parties to manage ongoing deliverables, ad hoc matters and project related items.
    Ensure current knowledge of regulations and updates as and when they are circulated by reading and implementing processes to adhere to changing regulations.
    Conduct in-depth financial analysis of fund performance, including returns, risk metrics, and market trends.
    Analyse distribution channels and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
    Prepare research reports for management and clients upon request.
    Comply with the professional code of ethics.
    Comply with the standard disclaimer and disclosure principles.
    Assist in the development and execution of fund distribution strategies to optimise asset raising and meet client needs.
    Support the investment management team in evaluating potential investment opportunities and conducting due diligence.
    Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and compliance, to support fund distribution initiatives.
    Present analytical findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
    Carry out economic and financial research, studies, and analyses on behalf of clients and/or publish them to the public through any means of publication and communication.

 

REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Risk Management Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification.

 

Experience:

    3 years’ experience in financial analysis, fund distribution, investment management, or a related area.
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
    Experience with risk assessment tools and methodologies.
    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial software.
    Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.

 

SCA Qualifications Requirements (CISI)

The qualifications below must be obtained to be approved by the SCA as the Financial Analyst. The governing body that oversees the professional qualifications is the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI).

-      International Certificate in Wealth and Investment Management (Level 3)

 

Continuous Professional Development
