We are seeking a proactive and visionary Continuous Improvement and Sustainability Manager to lead and implement initiatives that drive operational excellence and sustainable practices across our organization. This role will be pivotal in identifying opportunities for process optimization, reducing environmental impact, and fostering culture of continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing:
Continuous Improvement:
Lead the development and implementation of continuous improvement strategies, methodologies and initiatives to promote operational excellence.
Collaborate with department heads to identify opportunities for improvement and establish measurable goals.
Conduct process assessments and analyses to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
Develop and maintain performance indicators to track progress and measure the effectiveness of improvement initiatives.
Facilitate multi-disciplinary teams to implement process improvements, including lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and best practices.
Provide training and coaching to employees at all levels on continuous improvement concepts and tools.
Act as an agent of change by promoting a culture of safety, innovation and excellence throughout the organization.
Sustainability and Energy:
Develop and implement strategies and concepts to enhance sustainability at the site.
Implement Knauf’s strategies to reduce GHG emissions and achieve Carbon Neutrality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost-saving and sustainability initiatives.
Analyse and collect data for sustainability key indicators for Knauf’s sustainability report and dashboards.
Identify savings opportunities and perform profitability calculations for energy-saving projects.
Continuously drive improvement and take a HANDS-ON approach to enhancing energy efficiency, reducing energy demand through both technical and PRACTICAL solutions, including process, plant, and system optimization.
Utilize renewable energy sources where possible and Identify the access for available funding and reduction potentials.
Lead HANDS-ON awareness-raising activities (training, demonstrations) for all staff and the wider business and Take responsibility for energy compliance at the site, leading ISO 50001 audits etc.
Monitor and record operational energy consumption and costs (e.g., natural gas, electricity, heat, compressed air, water, welding gas).
Prepare consumption data for budget compilation and cost planning.
Identify optimization potential through the energy monitoring system in the plant and Perform energy and utility cost planning.
Benchmark new/existing energy efficiency measures at other Knauf plants or suppliers and assess innovative technologies/processes that sustainably reduce energy demand.
Lead the development and implementation of life cycle assessments in the plant.
Engage and train employees at all levels to foster a culture of innovation and sustainability.
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international sustainability regulations and standards.
What we’d love for you to have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
Proven experience of working with manufacturing or process industries in continuous improvement, sustainability initiatives, or process optimization.
You have completed training in the field of continuous improvement, or a Green Belt certification, and have an appetite for production.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Passion for sustainability and a deep understanding of environmental best practices.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills to inspire change across teams.
You enjoy working with field teams and have already implemented performance improvement projects.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to analyse processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement solutions.
Familiarity with carbon footprint reduction strategies, circular economy principles, and renewable energy solutions.
Energy Efficiency and Resource optimization.
Ability to measure and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for improvement and sustainability initiatives.
Expertise in planning, executing, and monitoring multiple projects.
Understanding of manufacturing or operational systems and technology.
Knowledge of energy-efficient technologies and sustainable materials.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present ideas and results to diverse audiences.
Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers, to drive shared goals.

Openness to new technologies, methods, and trends that enhance sustainability and operational efficiency.
