As a leader in RDQ, you are a senior technical resource and internal expert in areas of critical importance to organization who regularly interacts with senior management. You apply your broad technical knowledge and in-depth knowledge of your technical specialty to identify, define and solve complex business problems.
How you will contribute
You will be the point of contact for multiple internal and external locations on Distribution quality related topics, ensuring products meet design, food safety and quality policy requirements. In this role, you will support R&D to design products, specifications and capabilities to bring consumer-inspired quality to life. To excel in this role, you will drive implementation of regional and global strategies; identify, report, monitor and direct corrective and preventive actions associated with Commercial quality KPIs, and partner with cross-functional internal and external business partners (R&D, regulatory, marketing and manufacturing) to meet our quality agenda. In addition, you will lead regional Commercial quality programs; share best practices among distribution sites through quality benchmarking; manage special situations and early warnings with respect to Supply Chain investigations, root-cause analysis and follow-up to protect Mondelēz International and our consumers, and; be an ambassador, driving quality and sharing expertise with colleagues to ensure that quality improvement becomes an instinctive culture across the business.

What you need to know about this position:
Commercial Quality shall assure that Business Unit and third parties activities affecting quality and safety of products, packaging, premiums & promotions comply with local regulations as well as with MDLZ Quality Chain Management System.
Education / Certifications:
- Food engineering or chemical/ physical engineering
- ISO 9001, FSSC 22000 & HACCP standards knowledge
- Log Ops or CSL Experience/Exposure - Preferable
Job specific responsibilities:
1. Coordinates the establishment, development and maintenance of systems to ensure compliance with MDLZ Quality Chain Management Systems and Policies.
2. Maintains documents and records to satisfy Mondelez International Quality systems and legal requirements.
3. Responsible for Direction, Implementation, Review and Improvement of all F.G. W.H. Quality Programs, including:
- HACCP Program
- GWP Program
- Hold & Release Program
- Finished Product Testing & Grading Program
- Calibration Program
- Warehouse Program
- Internal and External Audits
4. Ensuring that all HACCP plans in Warehouses/Co-packers are updated and approved to the current Mondelez International Global, Inc. Standard (Validations/Verifications)
5. Ensure that all changes to the process and product testing are properly documented by approved partial HACCP plans.
6. Ensures that products produced complies with current specification to meet safety, quality and local, state and federal regulatory requirements via system implementation, training and auditing.
7. Warehouse/Re - packer Audit support: Responsibility for
- Quality assurance in local warehouses (Mondelez International owned warehouses / external warehouses) and Re- packers.
- Re-packers evaluation.
- Ensuring regular monitoring of the quality systems (QCMS) is performed. Following up issues raised through audits and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented
- Food Defense in the Supply Chain.
8. Audits are performed to ensure that all Critical Control Points are checked as outlined in various plans.
9. Quality building programs with the trade/customers (freshness, trade returns, unsalable, quality yield initiative).
10. Acts as a quality link between local BU, other BUs, R&D, plants and Corporate Quality functions. Acts as a contact and coordinator for Corporate Quality Audits of the BU.
11. Drives continuous improvement for all quality aspects related to BU activities. Identify the improvement needs and drive implementation of quality building programs thus improving quality and reducing costs.
12. Ensures BU management is continuously updated about the important modifications and quality status- prepares quality reviews and presents to BOM 13. Provides support to BU when needed to the decision taking process, leading quality related risk assessment (e.g. product returns from trade).
14. SS management support: Provide support for Special Situations/emerging issues relating to product quality.
15. BU Driven Consumer and customer complaints: review and identify evolving issues through regular monitoring of the consumer & customer complaints data. Evaluate regular key issues and in conjunctions with the relevant functions drives appropriate corrective actions are in place to correct the issues and prevent from re-occurring.
16. Provides, tracks, and effectively communicates consumer complaint data to all levels of the plant. Conducts monthly reviews for multiple complaints on individual code dates and monthly trends to track continuous improvement. Investigates quality, processing, and packaging data and leads team efforts to identify root causes for key consumer complaint drivers.
17. Consumer Premium Coordination: Drives implementation a premium process for approving premiums in compliance with KF policies, acts as BU premium coordinator.
18. Support Licensee: ensure a system in place to review each licensee has been evaluated from a Quality perspective along with other cross functions (including micro, auditing) before commercial production.
19. Label compliance approval: implement a system with the relevant function to ensure appropriate review and approval of label artwork if required.
20. Manage Due Diligence/Regulatory Compliance issues involving imports: identify if due diligence testing is required for imports. Drives implementation of a process of import/export to ensure KF meet regulatory compliance.
21. Training: Identify what training is required to ensure awareness and understanding of the Mondelez International Quality requirements. Ensure effective training is delivered to the BU functions and is completed by them.
22. Retail Quality Assessments: In conjunction with RCT identify the scope and process to complete Retail Audits to monitor product/packaging quality at the store shelf. Drives implementation of the system. Review results and implement corrective actions to meet learning's.
23. Establishes departmental budgets and coordinates and approves spending. Provides financial data to plant management concerning quality and sanitation activities.
24. Directs and manages the Pest Control Program in the contracted Warehouses for compliance to the Mondelez International Pest Control Manual, along with state and regulatory requirements.
25. Implement traceability systems and conduct mock recall exercises across Supply Chain.
26. Support for Direction, Implementation, Review and Improvement of Suppliers/Co-man's. Quality Programs, including:
- HACCP Program
- GWP Program
- Hold & Release Program
- Finished Product Testing & Grading Program
- Calibration Program
- Warehouse Program
- Internal and External Audits
27. Co-man's training: Identify what training is required to ensure awareness and understanding of the Mondelez International Quality requirements from a Supply Chain perspective.
Travel requirements: 15-25%
No Relocation support available, however for candidates voluntarily moving internationally some minimal support is offered through our Volunteer International Transfer Policy
