We’re looking for a head of research to oversee our pan GCC research team based in Dubai. We want someone who can develop world-class thought leadership and research content that differentiates us from the rest of the pack. Our research needs to not only establish Cavendish Maxwell as a market leader, but the regional authority and de facto go-to on our core areas of expertise.

Our research function should work in partnership with marketing, business development and the service lines of the company to deliver cutting edge insights to clients not just in an engaging and innovative format, but in a way which demonstrates why they should come to us, with an incentive to do so.

We need someone who can help us reach our clients and the wider real estate community with insightful and hyper-targeted market intelligence, commentary and content.

Key responsibilities:

    Design and deliver the GCC research strategy for the group.
    Build a team of subject matter experts through hiring and retaining top talent.
    Establish Cavendish Maxwell as the regional authority on chosen areas of expertise through the production of presentations, whitepapers, market reports and other content.
    Work with the leadership team to create a roadmap for research to transition away from a traditional cost centre to a part revenue-generator.
    Maintain extensive knowledge of the conditions, factors and trends affecting the markets within this region and proactively deliver information, insights and products that demonstrate an outstanding command of this insight.
    Be an active regional spokesperson and visible expert for the group, including regularly presenting at company events, responding to media inquiries, attending interviews with the press and being featured in local news publications.
    Regularly attend and participate in client meetings to help win new business and deliver awarded projects.
    Support and drive regional and local research initiatives as needed.
    Contribute to RFPs and project scopes of work to help drive revenue into the business.
    Create and maintain high levels of business engagement with internal and external stakeholders for research initiatives.
    Review and improve processes and tools for developing advanced information and analytic approaches as a key driver of differentiation.
    Ensure compliance with all data protection and company information security policies and procedures to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.

Requirements:

    Passion for real estate with 10+ years of professional experience in the real estate advisory sector, public sector or related field with a deep understanding of real estate markets, ideally in the GCC.
    Creative and dynamic with excellent written and presentation skills with the ability to tailor reports and recommendations to both the private and public sector.
    Intellectual curiosity combined with a strong academic performance, with a preference for a degree in economics, real estate or related field.
    Strong project management skills, with the ability and desire to multitask and effectively manage numerous projects and deadlines at the same time.
    Business-savvy with the knowledge and desire to drive company growth and brand footprint.
    Technically savvy with knowledge of all relevant computer platforms, including, but not limited to, the Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with various database / CRM platforms.
    Self-sufficient and collaborative with the ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team, both in person and virtually.
    Analytical with problem-solving skills and strategic-thinking capacity.
    Must be self-motivated, adaptable and resilient.
