About Our Client

The client is a global consultancy with a strong presence in the engineering and project management industry, operating across more than fifty countries.
Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

    Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including consultancy agreements, framework agreements, and NDAs for regional units.
    Identify governance departures in contract reviews and assist project teams in obtaining necessary internal approvals.
    Advise the business on applicable laws, jurisdictions, and regulations.
    Revise and maintain legal templates across the Group, ensuring compliance with current best practices and legislation.
    Instruct and manage external law firms.
    Draft and update legal guidance to raise awareness of recurrent issues and new regulations in key markets.
    Advise the business on litigation and insurance matters, liaising with external counsel and technical experts as needed.
    Assist the Regional Head of Legal and collaborate with other members of the regional legal team.
    Support other legal functions, including Ethics & Compliance, Data Protection, and Insurance teams.

The Successful Applicant

    Minimum five years PQE, at least three of which are within the construction sector.
    Experience living and working in the Middle East, with an understanding of local civil laws..
    Relevant legal experience from a top national law firm or in-house, ideally within a consultancy or contractor environment.
    Strong practical understanding of legal principles, commercial law, and construction law, particularly in cross-border supply contexts.
    Experience handling legal matters across multiple jurisdictions, especially in the Middle East, with a good grasp of civil law systems in the region.
    Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills with the ability to multitask and solve complex problems.
    Confident communicator, capable of engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders and providing clear legal advice.
    Able to work independently or collaboratively as part of a larger team.
    Familiarity with international development projects and contracts is an advantage but not essential.
