Overview

The Data Science and Advanced Analytics Manager is responsible for leading high-value data initiatives and enhancing the capabilities of the Data Science team. They analyze complex data, develop predictive models, and leverage AI to drive business decisions. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams across Transmed to understand business needs, solve complex problems using advanced analytics and AI/ML, and ensure data quality. The manager also communicates insights to stakeholders, stays updated on emerging trends, and manages multiple data projects.
Responsibilities

 

    Lead the data science and advanced analytics services and functions delivering high value projects and activities that provide actionable insights for strategic decisions making productivity and efficiency.
    Engage with internal business, external stakeholders and subject matter experts to deliver tangible value that align with the business strategic objectives through exploitation of datasets, insights, techniques, digital capabilities and automation.
    Work with senior leaders, business community, customers, suppliers and strategic partners to deliver projects and activities in line with the business requirements and priorities.
    Deliver maximum value and impact of data through compelling, clear and actionable storytelling relevant to business goals and objectives.
    Communicates complex data and analyses effectively and ensure that data analyses and contexts are fully understood and actionable by business partners, customers and suppliers.
    Lead the development and implementation of data science and advanced techniques and tools in response to business needs including exploratory analysis, machine learning, natural language processing, statistical and predictive modelling, data visualization and emerging techniques such as the application of generative AI.
    Data mining and extracting usable data from trusted data sources. Analyze large amounts of data, run custom queries, identify patterns and trends to recommend actions and solutions.
    Process, clean, and validate the integrity of data to be used for analysis.
    Propose data solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges. Improve and maintain business data infrastructure and tools.
    Lead a high performing Data Science and Advanced Analytics team including recruitment, mentorship and continued development. Sets clear goals and expectations, celebrates success and encourages learning and growth.
    Promotes a culture of innovation, experimentation, idea generation and actionable creativity within the Data Science and Advanced Analytics team and beyond.
    Commit to continued self-learning and professional development staying up to date with emerging trends and technologies in data science.

TM Purpose

    Acts as a role model by living Transmed Purpose on daily basis and ensure full compliance with company policies and standards.

Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics focusing on Analysis, High Performance Computing, Operations Research, Engineering or quantitative or related discipline.
    Master’s in computer science, Computer Engineering or related field is a plus.
    Certification and / or proficiency in databases, statistical models and programming languages such as Python, and database query languages like SQL is preferred.
    Certification, working knowledge, and / or familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as Azure or AWS is a plus.
    6+ years of progressive business technology experience with statistical modeling and data visualization. 
    4+ years of people leadership experience in building, managing and developing high performing teams.
