About the position
Strategy Directors come in many flavours, we’re looking for an Arabic speaker who excels in developing integrated creative campaigns, with a deep understanding of the role of POSE (paid, owned, shared and earned) channels in customer journeys and campaign planning. This role is perfect for strategists based in the Middle East who are looking to level up from Senior Planner, or a Strategy Director who is looking to take on more responsibility and ownership. In return you will become a critical part of a small but ambitious strategy team who are looking to bring brutal simplicity of thought to the ad campaigns of local, regional and global brands right here from Dubai.
Location: Dubai, based in our agency 4 days a week and 1 from home. We are looking for an estabished Dubai based Strategist.
About the Role
We push our creative teams to make the best work of their career. As Strategy Director you'll be key in enabling this process.
Below is a snapshot of what you’ll do:
Research, Analysis & Insight:
Plans and execute research in order to provide the most relevant and compelling information upon which to formulate strategies
Experienced in various research methodologies that uncover not just the what’s, but the why’s behind consumer behaviour
As comfortable with qual as they are with quant, able to extract interesting observations from numbers and verbatim
Able to to analyse research and interpret the findings into useful and novel insights
An expert as transcreating research, insights and strategies between Arabic and English
Experience using some of the following tools is preferred: Social listening, GWI, GA, Google Keyword Planner, Similarweb, ChatGPT, Midjourney
Strategic Thinking:
Defines the best research and strategy approach to solve client problems and briefs
Brings new approaches to problem solving and strategy design to the agency
Designs integrated marketing communication plans
Owns comprehensive client strategy development (eg annual planning)
Able to make stories of their strategies and distill them down to their simplest form
Concepting:
Can support the Creative Director in better understanding audience motivations, behaviours and channel usage
Inspires the creative team in novel ways, by turning their creative briefs in compelling narratives
Leadership and Influence:
Conceptualises, creates and executes thought leadership content in a way that supports the agency vision
Contributes to agency knowledge by introducing new ideas/ approaches, preparing case studies and training initiatives for colleagues and clients
Leads interdisciplinary teams from creative, digital, PR and media to arrive at solutions best suited for our client and their audience
Able to lead the strategy on large scale pitches independently
Author of Effie’s papers and other awards submission which require a demonstration of strategy, insight or results
Is a persuasive communicator to clients and colleagues at all levels of the business
Team
Supports the Head of Strategy in looking after the wellbeing and success of a small team - involved in recruitment and structure of team.
Promotes our agency spirit and values of keeping things brutally simple in an overly-complex world
Upskills those around them, whilst finessing their own leadership skills
Commercials
Keeps and eye on profitability of projects worked on
Can identify untapped opportunities within clients and work to create new revenue streams
Commercial understanding of how both our agency and our client make money
About You:
You are ready to step into a bigger role and take the lead on one of the agencies biggest accounrs to make the best work of your career.
You bring (required):
5-7 years of ad agency experience.
Experience of working as a Senior Planner / Senior Strategy Director at an advertising agency
A good portfolio of strategic work, with 2-3 examples of great work
Experience in carrying out both qualitative and quantitiatve research
Evidence of building and delivering presentations to clients, that answer the brief and demonstrate clear and simple thinking
High standards for executions and attention to tone and detail.
Strong interpersonal skills;
As a bonus, you bring:
Regional GCC experience
Arabic as a native language
Recent award wins at regional or global award shows.
