Introduction

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager - Innovation Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in innovation management, strategic consulting, and a proven track record of driving business growth through innovative solutions. Experience in the startup ecosystem and venture capital (VC) is essential, as the role requires a deep understanding of early-stage business dynamics and investment strategies. The Manager - Innovation Consultant will be responsible for leading innovation projects, managing client relationships, and overseeing the entire project lifecycle—from business origination to full delivery and operational implementation.

Some of the things you will be required to undertake

    Direct contribution to innovation projects for ADQ portfolio companies and other organizations in the MENA region
    Deliver client innovation workshops, culture, ecosystem mapping, IP origination, monetization and monitoring
    Engage with potential clients, winning new business to service their long-term requirements
    Build client relationships across executive levels to operational managers
    Develop new frameworks, content, mental models, technologies and processes to improve client and internal innovation approaches
    Work independently, supporting client needs and adapting to their requirements
    Identify and pursue new business, lead negotiations from a business approach
    Write and win client engagements that are issued for tender
    Map, develop and maintain engagements with partners, VC funds, Accelerator operators, research and universities around the world
    Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of innovation projects from inception to completion.
    Develop and implement innovative strategies and solutions to meet client needs.
    Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
    Manage the entire lifecycle of client projects, including business origination, planning, execution, delivery, and operational handover.
    Coordinate with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with client objectives.
    Monitor project progress, manage risks, and resolve issues to ensure successful delivery.

Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science,
    Master's in engineering or business administration (preferred)
    Product / Project Manager certification (preferred)
    Trained in Agile and other innovation methodologies

Experience

    5-7 years of experience in innovation consulting, strategic consulting, or a related field.
    Proven track record of managing and delivering successful innovation projects.
    Experience working with clients across various industries, including technology, healthcare, finance, and consumer goods.
    Direct experience within startups or venture capital firms, with a strong understanding of startup scaling, investment strategies, and the venture capital landscape.
    Extensive experience in project management, from business origination to full delivery and operations.

    Consulting business knowledge - commercial mindset to close deals and win clients
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically.
    Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
    Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
    Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
    Strong business acumen and understanding of market dynamics and trends, particularly within the startup and venture capital ecosystems.
    Business technical, and financial acumen
    Strategic thinking - Ability to think critically and strategically, considering both the big picture and the details
    Communication skills – Excellent written, verbal communication and listening skills
    Entrepreneurial mindset – Develop innovative solutions to solve client problems and adapt to work in dynamic work environments
    Interpersonal skills - Emotional intelligence to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics and build strong working relationships.
