Position Summary:

    Responsible for the smooth refractory function in shift
    Ensuring the quality of workmanship and safety in shift of Ladle & Refractory Department.
    Check & arrange material & tool requirement on site of ladle & refractory for shift.
    Housekeeping & Inventory control in the General Shift

    

Major Responsibilities & Duties performed:

    Responsible for Refractory General shift jobs in Ladle, Tundish, EAF & IF .
     Planning of material and manpower as per jobs required.
    Preparing all reports –weekly /monthly / failure reports.
    All incoming material quality inspection and trial reports
    Make reservation for issuing of all refractory material & safety material through SAP.
    Inspection of Ladle bricks & porous plug condition after every casting.
    Maintain the circulation ladle life, preheating new ladle on vertical preheater as per requirement.
    Information to all related agencies & SM before using new ladle or out of circulation ladle.
    All data sheets, Log sheets of ladle, Tundish & furnaces fill properly & monitor.
    Responsibility of Drop Out Box (DOB) inspection, gunning & patching is shift if required.
    Shutdown Activities to be planned and executed on time.
    Information to concerned authorities for any abnormalities in the shift.
    Keep records of ladle life, tundish life, EAF life & IF life.

 Will report to  Assistant Manager Ladle & Refractory

Work Contacts: EAF/LF/CCM/IF Supervisory crew and Plant management
 

Competencies:
 

Should possess thorough knowledge of Steel Plant Refractory activities, cold and hot repairs and ability to guide subordinate on related activities.
 

Ability and skill to judge refractory conditions in hot and cold conditions.

 Working knowledge on SAP MM module

 Supervisory skills

 Analytical ability

 
Ability to take decisions on critical situations
