Job Purpose

    Support QC Technicians in their role by providing technical expertise (20%)
    Control of BOM's and update SAP as per business requirements (20%)
    New product introductions, scale ups, BOM modifications (PIFs) (10%)
    Manage routing and batch sizes (5%)
    Perform trend and statistical analysis on batches looking for trends in non-conformity to drive right first time (10%)
    To work with the manufacturing department in completing process confirmation to ensure adherence to procedures and uphold quality (10%)
    To participate in reject investigations (5%)
    Support the business in controlling rework and SLOB (10%)
    Improvement projects across the quality team (10%)

Key Accountabilities

    Work with the manufacturing team to carry out process confirmation during batch manufacture. This will include working with operators in testing batches, walking production floors, and highlighting any quality concerns with the aim of improving quality.
    Support QC technicians in their daily activities by providing technical expertise and guidance where required. This will include providing advice on how to correct batches as well as approving out of specification products.
    Liaise with R&D and be the bridge between the two business functions in working to improve production processes and implementing new products to Dammam Site
    Assist the Site Quality manager in audits and certification e.g. ISO9001, supplier audits & product specific Audits etc. as required.
    Perform trend and statistical analysis on batches looking for trends in non-conformity to drive right first time and optimize formulations.
    Be accountable for SAP changes relating to batch manufacture. This will include new product setups, SEFI's, raw material changes and any other changes required by the business. Deciding batch routing and batch sizes.
    Pro-actively reviewing Process Orders, BOMs and batch cards prior to release to ensure they are fit-for-purpose prior to commencing manufacture.
    Be a key team member of reject and near miss investigations, offering technical advice and support surrounding reasons pertaining to a batch being rejected.
    Work with the supply team in proactively controlling SLOB and rework.
    Participate and drive quality improvement projects.

Experience

    Minimum High School Certificate/Diploma. University degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering will be preferred
    Experience of working within Paint & Coatings laboratory, either QC or R&D (Marine / Protective / Metal Coatings)
    SAP experience will be preferred
    Must be a team player
    Able to solve problems with minimal supervision
    Able to gather data and present it in a meaningful and easy to understand manner
    Focus on quality and customer satisfaction
    The successful applicant will be required to work shifts and willing to extend support as per Business needs
