Role Purpose

• The Supply Chain Director is a member of the Africa Middle East (AME) leadership team and is responsible for defining and leading the SC AME strategic roadmap, strongly linked with the AME vision & business needs as well with the Global/Regional SC strategies.
• The role scope includes 4 Operating Units: Middle East (ME), North Africa (NA), Central East and West Africa (CEWA) and South Africa (RSA) and the consolidation of their performance, synergies and talent development. This role reports functionally to the VP Supply Chain Emerging Markets with a legal reporting line to the Senior VP Africa Middle East.
• AME consist of 63 countries and 7 affiliates, working in a matrix structure with multiple stakeholders, the Supply Chain Director will work with the SC Regional/Global team and AME Leadership Team to execute on Supply Chain strategies and initiatives.
• This role ensures the high performance of processes and KPIs though the SC local lead teams and creates the required SC AME platform and functional support to develop the team and accelerate the execution of the key strategic plan in the region.

Your Tasks

• Participate in the development of the overall business strategy as member of the AME & SC RUMEAA Leadership Team.
• Lead and steer an aligned AME SC strategy, linked with AME SRM and Global SC roadmap. Deployment of local process and standard to improve cost and SL in the region.
• Lead end-to-end supply chain processes from MU S&OP, demand planning, customer operations and SC customer collaboration, logistics, value added services, local quality assurance and regulatory affairs as well as supply chain development to identify optimization opportunities and influencing stakeholders to deliver best overall business outcomes.
• Ensure high performance of the 4 Operating Units, including efficiencies by identifying and consolidating synergies (assortment, supply, master data, quality, regulatory, people-GE).
• Liaise with functional stakeholders to ensure effective matrix management of business-critical activities.
• Establish and maintain effective supply chain and customer management relationships with key customers, suppliers and other partners.
• Responsible for budgeting, project management and oversight of relevant departmental change programs to effectively define and deliver a continuous improvement agenda for own span of control.
• Build a future-fit SC organization (structure, tasks, people, skills, processes & recognition). Develop talent and build succession planning for SC AME.
• Guide, coach, develop and engage our Supply Chain team with a strong “One Team” mentality to maximize performance. High focus on developing key talent in the business.
