Registered Nurse - OPD (Khalidiya), NMC Healthcare, Abu Dhabi, UAE

CLINICAL PRACTICE:

a) Assisting medical staff and taking responsibility for all of a patient’s basic needs.
b) Healthcare Assistant (HCA) works under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional, usually a registered nurse, and assists with basic duties that are in line with the hospitals policies and procedures.
c) Performs a range of duties as directed in accordance with the patient’s individuality, abilities, culture and choices. Such as:
a. Washing and dressing patients
b. Serving meals and helping to feed patients
c. Helping patients mobilize
d. Assisting patients to the bathroom /toileting
e. Making beds
f. Talking to patients and making them comfortable
d) Practices in accordance with BIH values and moral principles and maintains confidentiality as appropriate.
e) Assists the patient with general hygiene and helps maintain a safe, clean environment using infection control practices.
f) Provides information and observations to assist the nursing staff.
g) Operate basic equipment to obtain data and keeps them clean.
h) Organizes department stores, carriages and trolleys with consumables while keeping them clean and tidy.
i) Transporting specimens to laboratory .
j) Assists nurses in the discharge process (handing over paperwork to the pharmacy and admission office.)
k) Initiates emergency, safety practices and fire safety measures as necessary.
l) Performs other job-related duties as assigned
m) Assist in maintaining and providing a clean and safe environment, by utilizing appropriate infection control techniques as they apply to the patient condition including but not limited to, proper hand hygiene and standard precautions.
n) Responds to patient emergency call signals or bells to identify patient needs.
o) Follow-up insurance approvals of consultations and inform the concerned physician & staff.
p) To communicate with the other healthcare workers regarding services and needs of the patient.
q) Assists the patient to facilitate follow-up visits

Bachelor’s Degree/diploma or Equivalent

Minimum 2 - 3 years’ experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and /or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been attached
