Pharmacy Technician, Al Nexzit Consults, Dubai, UAE

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
2. Receive prescription orders from patients or healthcare providers and enter prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
3. Measure, count, pour, and package medications according to prescription orders and pharmacy protocols.
4. Process insurance claims and obtain prior authorizations for prescription medications as needed.
5. Maintain pharmacy inventory levels by ordering and stocking medications, supplies, and over-the-counter products.
6. Perform medication reconciliation and assist with medication therapy management tasks under the supervision of a pharmacist.
7. Provide excellent customer service to patients, answering questions, addressing concerns, and providing information about medications.
8. Handle cash register transactions and process payments for prescription orders.
9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including pharmacy shelves, storage areas, and workstations.
10. Adhere to pharmacy regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pharmacy technician training program or certification is preferred.
2. Current pharmacy technician licensure or certification
3. Previous experience working as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is advantageous but not required.
4. Strong knowledge of pharmacy terminology, medication names, and dosage forms.
5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in medication preparation and inventory management.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers.
7. Proficiency in pharmacy computer systems and software applications.
