Duration: ASAP – 1 year
Location: Dubai, (Local candidates only)

Assignment Description

• Ensure good cooperation, communication and alignment between the base organization and the project.
• Performs daily inspections in accordance with the ITP (Inspection Test Plan) & expected to be onsite.
• Monitor performance of contractors, ensure Applicators are competent and where required have valid certification for the process in use, equipment is in serviceable condition.
• Ensure inspection and test equipment is serviceable, with in calibration period and personnel are knowledgeable in its use. Ensure blast medium and coating materials conform to project specifications.
• Ensure surface preparation blast profile/ cleanliness meet requirements. Monitor wet film thickness during application and application technique.
• Ensure ambient conditions are acceptable for required process output.
• Monitor dry film thickness and re-coating intervals.
• After the full curing activity conduct visual inspection and specified non-destructive and destructive tests.
• Prepare daily reports on the work in progress.
• Responsible for timely inspection during fabrication and construction, proactive in the identifying errors if any.
• Participate and conduct the root cause analysis and report causal factors root causes, corrective actions and follow-up for closure.
• Work with PDE operations team as well as client to ensure clear guidance and clarifications are provided with regards to scope of work and specifically for life extension activities of Surface preparation and coating application.
• Work with PDE operations team to assist Contractor to arrange for required condition assessment inspections by contractor and / or OEM.
• Participate in Pre-job conference to brief all involved on expectations to review and discuss scope of works.
• Participate in discipline checks, design reviews, HAZID’s, HAZOP’s and any other related safety studies.
• Report to the Surface Protection Lead if any delays in progress under his/her area of responsibility.
• Report to the Surface Protection Lead if any failure of design or gap between the delivered solution and the contract requirement, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Participate in meetings and inspections as required, worldwide.
• Coordinate Lessons Learned input to PDE Project Management Team.
• Close assigned Technical Query (TQ) and other Action Tracker items in PIMS or formal MOM.
• Collaborate closely with other key disciplines in the Project Management Team. Call off assistance from discipline resources within area of responsibility as needed to keep quality and progress.
• Participate and follow-up to arrange Technical-teach to educate the workforce within area of responsibility.
• Contribute to ensure site HSE standard and compliance.
• Follow-up and ensure fabrication progress and quality in respective discipline.
• Monitoring of Contractors surface protection and insulation activities within all disciplines, ensure that all required qualifications are performed.
• Monitor that Contractor construction and quality control departments follow the required procedures, specification and standards to ensure that all quality requirements are met and that project specifications are implemented throughout construction.
• Actively work with Contractor to ensure that mechanical completion is achieved with a minimum of punch listed items.
• Participate in area/system punch in critical areas.
• Follow up and verify Contractors closing of punch items as required.
• Assist Contractor with discipline field engineering / construction details.
• Other roles (and role descriptions) as and when required.

Qualifications

• Technical education
• Minimum of 7-10 years’ relevant experience within Surface preparation, Coating application, Insulation Inspection on similar projects
• Qualification to FROSIO inspector level III for insulation.
• Preferably certified as NS476 level III or NACE/ AMPP coating inspector level II or similar. It is crucial that the candidate has a proactive mindset and focus on supporting Contractor success.
• Recent relevant experience in middle east/ southeast Asian shipyards is an advantage.
• Recent experience of working on modification projects and / or FPSO redeployment is strongly desired.
• Recent relevant experience of UK project execution is an advantage.
• Strong leadership & interpersonal skills applied to a multidisciplined project team.
• Strong ability to solve problems and communicate persuasively.
• Diplomacy & assertiveness
• Organized, Systematic & Flexible
• Ability to prioritize the work in multi-tasking environment. Ability to meet tight deadlines, follow up on commitments, and act.
• Proficient computer knowledge with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook) required.
• English – fluent written and verbal skills
