GENERAL RESPONSIBILITES:
Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in maintaining critical and sensitive information, records, and reports.
Actively participate in the Medical Center’s on-going Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Programs and other In-Service Training Programs
Act as a translator if needed.
Perform other duties and tasks assigned by the Head of Department
ORGANIZATIONAL:
Lead on medical input in the development of strategies, particularly the clinical strategy
Implements appropriate change, or where required, recommend such change for Top Management approval.
Maintains an effective working relationship with all Top management members, Physicians, and Medical Centre employees.
Participates in the recruitment and selection process for medical providers.
Performs clinical supervision of medical staff, including regular performance appraisals and feedback to staff.
Provides supervision of continuing professional education, in-service training and orientation of new medical staff.
Ensure that quality of services is provided as per standards of JCI.
Ensure the medical resources operate to maximum efficiency.
Provide visible leadership for medical staff on both professional and managerial issues.
Ensure regular communication and meetings with medical staff, in conjunction with operational senior managers, ensuring they are engaged with the development and implementation of service plans and policies.
Resolving issues relating to the poor performance of medical staff and the implantation of disciplinary procedure.
Ensure that medical staff undertakes their duties in line with statutory and mandatory training requirements for doctors.
Participates in surveys and interacts with outside regulatory agencies.
PLANNING:
Responsible for formulating and presenting for annual approvals, work plans and budget recommendations, including assisting the Finance Committee in its annual review of the capital budget.
Participates in the facility budget process to assure the availability of resources for medical functions.
Responsible for the maintenance and updating of short and long term strategic plans aimed at achieving

The medical director participates in cost containment decisions that affect medical care.
ADMINISTRATION:
Responsible for the day-to-day administrative operations of the Medical Centre, the delegation of duties and the establishment of formal means of accountability.
Responsible for developing standards and qualifications for medical personnel.
Ensures the effective delivery of high quality patient care.
Approval of medical practice procedures and policies.
Responsible for the credentialing and privileging of the medical staff as per committee.
Ensures the operation of appropriate project and business development activities in accordance with Management policies.
Ensures that all contract issues are managed efficiently and effectively in accordance with policies.
Ensures the effective operation of a quality improvement process for the Medical Centre, including the periodic assessment of patient satisfaction
Ensures the maintenance and timely updating of operational procedures manuals.
Ensures that effective communication is maintained with all departments.
Responsible for keeping the Medical Centre Management and staff abreast of legislation, regulations or any other actions which might have an important effect of the Medical Centre operations and for making recommendations for appropriate action.
Ensures that safety of all employees, patients, physicians, guests, visitors and others is adequately addressed and protected.
Participate in Medical Centre quality program and be member of quality committees if chosen.
Serves as a liaison between medical staff and administration.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
Ensures that public relations programs are conducted effectively.
The medical director acts as an advocate for the facility, encourages and facilitates community involvement in the activities of the facility, and assists the community in achieving a realistic understanding of the facility’s capabilities and services.
Demonstrates a caring and helpful attitude when interacting with patients, vendors and fellow employees.
Strives to build cooperative partnerships with internal and external customers.
Responsible for the effective representation of the Medical Centre at appropriate public, civil and other
Organizational activities and meetings.
Acts as the representative in all matters, except in cases where the Management has specifically authorized some other designee.
Plays a leadership role in coordinating health care and wellness services in the Medical Centre service area.
Participates in other program activities as appropriate.
DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:
Work is carried out within general policies, principles, and goals, and is subject to direction only for guidance on policy issues.
ACCOUNTIBILITY:
Accountable for day-to-day related assignments
OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH MANAGEMENT:
Attending Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) programs as a mandatory requirement.
Being compliant with all OSH policies & procedures and legal requirements regarding Occupational Safety and Health Management System.
Conducting his/her task in a healthy and safe manner at all times.
Reporting any untoward events that will impact the occupational, safety & health of patients, staff, contractors, facilities, operations, etc.
Comply with the established OHSMS procedures of which they have been informed, instructed and trained.
Actively participate along with line management towards implementation of OHSMS requirements.
Report to the respective manager any potentially hazard, unsafe act or condition, which may cause EHS impacts.
Report all EHS hazard, near miss and incidents to the respective line manager.
INFECTION CONTROL:
All employees are personally accountable for their actions and are responsible for ensuring that they comply with infection prevention and control policies.
Health care workers are responsible for identifying infectious conditions that require specific controls to protect themselves and their patients. In addition, they are responsible for notifying the infection prevention.

MBBS with a Master Degree or equivalent Specialization subject
Completed 3 - 5 years Residency Training in Specialization Degree
5+ Years of Experience in managing operations of a midsize Hospital / large Medical Center
Native Arabic speaker/Fluency in Arabic is preferable.
Experience in a Managerial/Leadership role in UAE/Abu Dhabi will be an added advantage.
