1. JOB DETAILS:
Position Title: Senior Specialist Maintenance
Broad Band: M10: Professional
Talent Pipeline Layer: Manage Self Operational (MS)
2. OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
Inspect, test, repair, and maintain (discipline specific) plant and operations equipment/machinery (routine, ad-hoc, emergency and strategic maintenance) to ensure continuous integrity, and sustainable and safe operation.
3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Qualification:
1. Diploma in Instrument Technical School or Equivalent.
2. Maths and Science is desirable
3. Trade test + 2 Years experience as Senior Technician (subject to personal performance)

12 Years relevant experience

- Expert competence interpreting regulations and codes; reading ISO drawings Mechanical/Electrical/Instruments flow diagrams and other technical drawings
- Sound knowledge of the application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment
- Expert workable knowledge of discipline specific machines, materials, methods, tools and equipment, including their designs, correct application and safe use, repair and maintenance
- Highly competent in troubleshooting and implementing corrective actions
- Expert understanding of specific section's processes and procedures
- Expert knowledge of applicable safety codes, regulations, rules and procedures
- Controlling operations of equipment and/or systems
- Expert knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost, and other techniques for maximising the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Sound knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models
- Full physical mobility, and ability to work in confined spaces and/or at hights
- Effective verbal and written communication skills

- Routinely inspect and test equipment/machinery/fixtures, using applicable(discipline specific) testing equipment/tools
- Independently identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with safety and other regulations
- Correct and safe use of a variety of discipline specific tools or equipment (manual and power tools) to test, analyse, repair and modify plant equipment/machinery/fixtures
- Perform and oversee routine service requirements
- Troubleshooting: determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
- Execute and oversee repairs/modifications: dismantle, fix and reassemble of machines/equipment
- Examine (own and colleagues') workpieces for defects and ensure conformance with specifications and safety requirements
- Perform ad-hoc and/or emergency maintenance (including shutdowns)
- Execute and oversee discipline specific artisan work during projects
- Plan layout and installation of equipment/machinery/fixtures
- Prepare and maintain records, detailing tests, repairs and/or maintenance
- Consult manuals, schematics, flow diagrams and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and to determine optimum equipment functioning
- Independently analyse test data to diagnose malfunctions, to determine performance characteristics of systems and/or to evaluate effects of systems modifications
- Strict adherence to safety codes, regulations, rules and procedures
- Read and comply to work orders and specifications to determine machine/equipment requiring repair or maintenance
- Identify correct parts needed for replacements and repairs and timely order following correct procedures
- Perform standby duties when required
