ABOUT THE POSITION

Job Title: Finance Manager  

Hiring Manager: Senior Finance Manager (Based in Australia)

Employment: Full-time

Location: Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi (in office 4 days/week)

 

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join as a Finance Manager in our Finance Department.  The ideal candidate must bring a strong sense of commitment to this role. The Finance Manager (FM) role will report to the Senior Finance Manager, who is based in Australia. GQG is building a centralized accounting and finance function in the UAE covering all current international subsidiaries.  Responsibilities include navigating complex financial matters, conducting financial analysis and reporting, taking on special projects as needed, and continuously seeking ways to scale and refine processes. The role requires a proven ability to apply accounting and finance knowledge with a strong mix of analytical, reporting, and financial modeling experience.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

    Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including monthly close, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger for the international subsidiaries of GQG Inc.
    Lead financial reporting, including preparing statutory financial statements, as well as management reports inclusive of balance sheets, and income statements.
    Coordinate with GQG Tax and advisors on all tax filings, managing the process to timely filings.
    Serve as a key contact for our international service providers.  
    Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
    Lead and manage all statutory audits.
    Manage and mentor accounting staff (1 staff in 2024, with potential future growth as needed) who will also be based in Abu Dhabi.  
    Ability to research and document GQG’s position, policy, and draw conclusions on accounting transactions.
    Ability to achieve deadlines and plan effectively across multiple time zones.
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
    Identify areas for process improvements and implement changes as needed.
    Ensure timely response on all external requests & emails.
    Cross train on a variety of areas to improve team resiliency.  
    Collaborate with other departments to support business goals and objectives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
    Proven work experience as Finance Manager or in a similar role; at an asset management firm is a plus.
    CPA or relevant professional certification preferred.
    2 or more years in public accounting preferred.
    Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management.  
    Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices  
    Experience with UAE reporting and international reporting.
    Experience with UAE tax (indirect, direct and payroll). International tax is desired but not essential.  
    Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
    Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage a variety of stakeholders across the organization.
